Young engineer Le Hoang Than - From passion to billion-dollar initiatives

Overcoming many challenges in his technical work journey, Engineer Le Hoang Than, Head of the DCS Operation Team, Urea Workshop, Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant, has made his mark with a series of innovative initiatives that have brought high economic efficiency. He was recently honored by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union as a "Skilled Young Worker" nationwide.

Great motivation to continue contributing

At the 15th National Commendation Ceremony held on May 26 in Nghe An, Engineer Le Hoang Than, representing Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (PVCFC), was named in the list of “Excellent Young Workers”. He is also one of five representatives of the Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group ( Petrovietnam ) to be awarded this title. This is a worthy reward for his quiet but persistent efforts in the field of engineering and operations.

As a 9X generation, Engineer Le Hoang Than has a journey of more than 10 years with Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant. It is a journey not only filled with sweat and challenges, but also with enthusiasm and aspiration to explore and improve. For him, every difficulty in operation is not an obstacle, but an opportunity to learn, create and grow.

“I feel honored and proud to receive the title of “Excellent Young Worker”. This is not only a recognition of my personal efforts but also a great motivation for me to continue to contribute”, Engineer Le Hoang Than shared.

Pioneering spirit and desire for innovation

The highlight of Engineer Le Hoang Than's achievements is the initiative "Improving the operating efficiency of the granulation chamber", a technical solution that brings an estimated economic value of nearly 19 billion VND, recognized by the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) at the industry level.

It is no coincidence that this initiative has achieved such high efficiency. With his keen observation, understanding of the process and continuous improvement thinking, he has made a series of important adjustments: from reducing the amount of recovered liquid from P07605, saving LS steam for E06114 equipment, to significantly reducing the amount of steam consumed at the granulation cluster. In particular, the continuous operating time has been increased from 21.3 days/cycle to 29.6 days/cycle, something that not every technical team can easily achieve.

“There were times when I doubted myself, wondering if the direction of improvement was right. But it was my passion for the job and the wholehearted support from my colleagues that helped me stay steadfast in my goals and confidently implement solutions,” he recalled.

In addition, Engineer Le Hoang Than also contributed many other important technical improvement solutions such as: building a solution set to accurately determine the leak point in the Stripper E06101 device; handling and sealing the leak point on the fan oil tank B07603; diluting the liquid in tank T06101 to avoid cavitation at pump P06109; or proposing a solution to maintain the stable operation of the granulation system in case the product's V48002 scale stops working.

Inspire creativity

Each improvement demonstrates a high sense of responsibility for work, while contributing to improving productivity and ensuring the safety of the plant's operations. But what is more valuable is that these improvements have inspired the creative spirit of the engineers and workers of Ca Mau Fertilizer through the small but steadfast actions every day of the Head of the DCS Operation Team. He is not only a professional leader but also an example of progressive spirit and professional ethics. He especially emphasizes the role of the younger generation in the digital transformation and innovation process.

“Young people are the vanguard. We have open minds, quick adaptability and a spirit of learning. But along with opportunities comes responsibility, we must master technology, improve skills and maintain professional ethics,” Engineer Le Hoang Than affirmed.

He advised young people: “Never be afraid to start small. Progress comes from daily improvements, from a serious work attitude and a spirit of continuous learning. I hope that my results will spread the spirit of innovation to young people. Every worker and engineer can create great value if they dare to think differently, do differently and constantly learn.”

When asked about the future after the noble title, he modestly said: “This is a memorable milestone, but also a new starting point. I will continue to learn and research to create more value for the company.”
