Timely rescue of a sailor with a broken arm at sea

On the evening of August 4, CSB 6003 ship of Coast Guard Region 4 Command promptly rescued a crew member who broke his arm while fishing at sea in bad weather conditions.

At around 8:45 p.m., CSB 6003 received a distress signal from captain Dang Van Vung of fishing boat KG 94693 TS (residing in Rach Gia ward, An Giang province). According to information, crew member Danh Van Bay (born in 1971, residing in Giong Rieng commune, An Giang province) had an accident, suspected of breaking his arm while working on the boat.

Officers and soldiers of CSB 6003 ship brought the injured fisherman to the ship for first aid.

Immediately after receiving the order, CSB 6003 quickly maneuvered to approach the fishing boat in the conditions of big waves and strong winds, and took the victim to the rescue ship. The Military Medical Team determined that the patient had a closed fracture of the left forearm, performed first aid, fixed the injury and gave him pain medication.

At about 10:15 p.m. the same day, the victim regained consciousness and was handed over to the fishing boat for further monitoring and brought ashore for treatment.
