On July 11, the State Audit Office held a conference to review the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of the year.

According to the report at this conference, as of June 30, the State Audit has transferred two cases with signs of law violations to the police investigation agency for investigation and clarification. Over the past 6 months, the State Auditor General has issued a document directing the focus on auditing areas prone to corruption, waste, negativity, and public concern related to the management and use of public finance and assets; management and use of land, environment, resources, and minerals.

During the audit, the State Auditor General paid attention to projects that used capital ineffectively or wastefully, were behind schedule, slow to put into use, slow to implement, had difficulties, problems, etc.

The State Audit recommended increasing revenue and reducing state budget expenditure by VND8,344 billion. Of which, increasing state budget revenue by VND2,410 billion, reducing state budget expenditure by VND5,934 billion, and other recommendations of VND9,288 billion.

Through audits, this unit has discovered and recommended timely correction and handling of responsibilities for limitations in the management and use of public finance and assets of audited units.

Speaking at the conference, State Auditor General Ngo Van Tuan determined that entering the last 6 months of the year, the entire industry must review, research, and adjust the work plan to ensure it is suitable for the new context and arising tasks.

In particular, the audit sector urgently institutionalizes the State Audit's full-term thematic resolutions on improving the quality of human resources associated with streamlining the payroll and apparatus; enhancing the application of information technology and digital transformation.

In particular, the State Auditor General noted the need to improve audit quality, focus on thematic audits, and issues of public concern. He also requested the entire industry to promptly issue guidelines to remove difficulties and obstacles in auditing activities. At the same time, units need to closely monitor, urge, and monitor the implementation of audit recommendations.
