On the afternoon of October 24, the Investigation Police Agency of Lien Chieu District Police, Da Nang City, issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute 20 defendants, of which 15 were temporarily detained to continue investigating and handling the act of disturbing public order.
The defendants include: Nguyen Dinh Chien, Truong Thanh Toan, Nguyen Quang Dai (all residing in Lien Chieu district), Tran Ngoc Phuoc Sang, Phan Anh Phu, Nguyen Van Hau (all residing in Hoa Vang), Tran Phuoc Loc, Nguyen Hoang Nam, Duong Thanh Long, Phan Tien Hung (all residing in Da Nang city) and Vo Quoc Cuong, Tran Xuan Hau, Phan Duy Quan, Tran Phuoc Hoang, Nguyen Ngoc Trung, Bach Truong Thanh Nhan, Nguyen Duy Sinh, Lam Thanh Dat, Le Anh Kiet, Nguyen Thanh Phuoc (all residing in Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam ).

Among the defendants, Phan Tien Hung was prosecuted by Thanh Khe District Police (Da Nang) for theft of property at the end of 2023 and is currently on bail.
Tran Phuoc Hoang and Nguyen Ngoc Trung are also under house arrest pending trial by Duy Xuyen District People's Court for disturbing public order.
According to the investigation, in May 2024, Vo Van Khiem (18 years old, residing in Duy Xuyen district) viewed the social network Tiktok of Hoa My group (Lien Chieu district) and commented teasingly and provocatively, causing a conflict. Khiem and Hoa My group arranged to meet at 1:00 a.m. on May 26 at Nguyen Sinh Sac street (Hoa Minh ward, Lien Chieu district) to resolve the conflict.
After the appointment, Khiem asked Truong Thanh Toan for help. Toan went to Duy Thu commune, Duy Xuyen district, mobilized about 20 more people, brought pig-slaughtering knives, knives, homemade swords and 2 boxes of beer bottles to make petrol bombs and went to Da Nang.
At the same time, another group of teenagers (more than 30 people) led by Tran Ngoc Phuoc Sang had a conflict with Nguyen Quang Dai's group, so Sang mobilized more people to take revenge.
While Sang's group was looking for Dai's group, they discovered that Khiem and Toan's group from Duy Xuyen had just arrived at Nam Tran street (in front of Da Nang Central Bus Station) to prepare to fight with Hoa My's group.
Because it was dark, they mistook Khiem and Toan's group for Dai's group, so Sang's group attacked with swords and knives.
Being surprised, Khiem and Toan's group ran away in all directions. Nguyen Duy Sinh could not run away in time and was seriously injured by Sang's group. Sang also directed his accomplices to take the motorbike left behind by Khiem and Toan's group.
