Arousing the spirit of patriotic emulation in the era of advancement

Over 80 years of building and defending the Fatherland, the Patriotic Emulation Movement has always been the red thread, the great driving force to foster the spirit of solidarity and the aspiration to rise of the entire nation.

In Dong Nai, this movement has been spreading strongly and widely, associated with key political tasks, creating a driving force for sustainable development.

"Competition is patriotism, patriotism requires competition"

Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Dong Nai province Doan Thi Thu Thuy said: In recent years, many patriotic emulation movements in the province have been widely deployed, closely linked to the tasks of socio -economic development, national defense and security. One such movement is the Emulation Movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. In this movement, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province and organizations have deployed the Saturday for the community model, mobilizing the participation of cadres, party members, union members, association members, businesses and philanthropists. Thanks to that, thousands of solid houses have been built, bringing sustainable homes to the poor.

In the Movement of Good Farmers in Production and Business, the Provincial Farmers' Association has launched a model of Production Linkage according to the value chain, applying high technology in agriculture, forming cooperatives for growing VietGAP vegetables, raising high-tech dairy cows, and growing high-quality durian. Thereby, helping farmers increase their income, build a brand for clean agricultural products, and improve competitiveness.

In the era of the 4.0 industrial revolution, the entire emulation and reward process will be gradually digitized, creating a shared database, helping to evaluate objectively, transparently, saving time and costs. Specific indicators and data are used to evaluate the achievements of individuals and groups, overcoming the situation of favoritism and formality.

With the Good Labor Movement, Creative Labor, many enterprises have launched the model of Innovation Team, encouraging workers and engineers to improve techniques. Typically, the Trade Union of Changshin Vietnam Co., Ltd. has had hundreds of initiatives, making tens of billions of VND in profit each year, contributing to increasing productivity and improving working conditions.

As for the Movement of Joining Hands to Build Advanced New Rural Areas and Model New Rural Areas, many localities have built Flower - Light Security Roads and Green - Clean - Beautiful Model Residential Areas. Thereby, not only creating a new look for Dong Nai countryside, but also affirming the spirit of mastery of the people in the new era.

Emulation movements have contributed significantly to making Dong Nai one of the leading provinces in the Southern region in industrial development, high-tech agriculture, infrastructure construction and improving people's lives.

Innovate competition, replicate advanced models

Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) of Dong Nai province, Nguyen Minh Quang, said: The Department is promoting digital transformation and innovation through exciting emulation movements such as: Applying science and technology to production, Promoting administrative reform and digital transformation, Developing high-quality human resources. The results of the emulation movements have directly contributed to GRDP growth, promoting economic restructuring, improving the administrative reform index and the province's information technology application readiness index. The development of an innovative startup ecosystem and intellectual property protection has attracted investment and high-tech resources, contributing to sustainable development.

In the fields of health care and education and training, many individuals and groups have been striving to compete to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, innovate methods, improve the quality of teaching and learning, contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

As one of the individuals awarded the title of Meritorious Physician in 2024, Specialist II Doctor Nguyen Thi Kim Loan, former Deputy Director in charge of Thong Nhat General Hospital, confided: “I have devoted almost my entire life to the health sector. I hope that local people will have more access to high-quality medical services and receive the best health care right from the grassroots level.”

From July 1, 2025, Dong Nai will reorganize administrative units and streamline the organizational structure. This is an opportunity for patriotic emulation movements in the province to have strong innovation.

Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Doan Thi Thu Thuy said: Emulation movements in the province will be closely linked to the tasks of stabilizing the organization, resolving administrative procedures, and ensuring the legitimate rights of the people. The content of the emulation is adjusted to suit the reality, focusing on administrative reform, building a new office culture, and improving the operational efficiency of the apparatus. Thereby, creating consensus and solidarity among cadres, civil servants and people, quickly integrating into the new administrative unit.

In order for patriotic emulation movements in Dong Nai to become more practical and effective, the leader of the Department of Home Affairs shared: First of all, it is necessary to innovate the content and methods of emulation. The movements must be closely linked to the goals of socio-economic development, digital transformation, administrative reform, environmental protection, and social security. It is necessary to select key, practical movements, avoiding spreading and formality. Regarding rewards, priority will be given to direct workers, those in remote areas, who have made silent but meaningful contributions. Timely and unexpectedly reward good actions and initiatives with high spreading value.

In addition, it is necessary to promote the role of leaders. Leaders at all levels need to directly direct and monitor the emulation movement, promptly detect new factors. Good examples and models need to be honored and spread in the press, media, and social networks to encourage and create positive effects in the community.

“2025 is the final year of implementing the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2025, preparing for the 14th National Party Congress. Therefore, the Patriotic Emulation Movement has a special significance, an important solution to mobilize the strength of great solidarity, arouse the will, creativity, determination to break through, bring Dong Nai and the whole country to move forward quickly and steadily on the path of innovation” - Ms. Thu Thuy emphasized.
