Urgent search for missing victims on the Red River

On the morning of September 5, while traveling by boat on the Red River to catch seafood, a man in Bao Ha commune (Lao Cai province) unfortunately fell into the river. Authorities are urgently searching for him.

According to information from the People's Committee of Bao Ha commune, the incident occurred at around 6:30 a.m. the same day. The victim was identified as Hoang Van Don (born in 1981, residing in Mai Hong 1 village, Bao Ha commune).

At the time, Mr. Don was driving a wooden boat with an engine to fish. Due to carelessness, he slipped and fell into the river and was swept away by the current.

Authorities are actively searching for victims.

Immediately after receiving the news, the local authorities urgently mobilized more than 50 people, including militia, commune police, union members, youth and residents to carry out search and rescue work. Many motorboats were also mobilized to search along both sides of the river in the commune.

However, as of noon today (September 5), the victim's whereabouts have not been found.

To expand the search scope, the People's Committee of Bao Ha commune has issued a document requesting the People's Committees of the communes and wards: Lam Giang, Chau Que, Dong Cuong, Xuan Ai, Tran Yen, Nam Cuong, Van Phu and Yen Bai (Lao Cai province) to coordinate in notifying the people, at the same time supporting the search, salvage and providing timely information when detecting related signs.
