Accordingly, all children under 16 years old who need to be examined for heart disease, facial deformities, eye diseases, motor disabilities, etc. in some areas of Lao Cai province such as Sa Pa, Bao Yen, Bat Xat will be screened this time.
In particular, doctors at the Cardiovascular Center of E Hospital will screen children with congenital heart disease, children under 16 years old with signs of heart disease, with symptoms suspected of heart disease as follows: often coughing, wheezing repeatedly; abnormal breathing (rapid breathing, chest retracted when inhaling); children often have pneumonia, bronchitis; children have symptoms of slow sucking (lasting > 30 minutes); children are slow to grow, pale skin, cold, sweaty, often tired; lips, tongue, head, fingers are purple; shortness of breath when exerting; children with heart disease who have had surgery and are assigned to follow up for regular check-ups; children who have not had heart examinations at medical facilities, and need to check and detect heart disease.
In addition, children with cleft lip and cleft palate over 6 months old and weighing 8kg or more; children with cleft palate over 18 months old and weighing 10kg or more will also be screened and can be included in free smile surgery programs that will be held at E Hospital or other hospitals in the near future.
For children with eye disabilities, the subjects examined are children under 16 years old with strabismus, ptosis, cataracts, glaucoma, and corneal scars.
For children in need of rehabilitation, doctors will examine and advise children with motor disabilities, speech delay, intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, brain sequelae, cerebral palsy, stroke, paralysis sequelae, delayed motor development after premature birth, asphyxia, prolonged postpartum jaundice; brain sequelae, paralysis sequelae.
For children with motor disabilities, doctors will examine and advise patients with motor disabilities including congenital malformations such as syndactyly, polydactyly, oligodactyly, bone defects; clubbed hands and feet; dislocated hips, patellas, shoulder joints, elbow joints; sternocleidomastoid fibrosis, torticollis, delta muscle fibrosis, and rectus femoris muscle.
Children with acquired diseases and traumatic sequelae: rickets, O, X, K shaped legs; scoliosis, muscle atrophy, joint stiffness, radial nerve palsy, ulnar nerve palsy, short limbs, pseudoarthrosis, osteomyelitis, soft tissue tumors, bone tumors, and synovial tumors are also examined for free this time.
