Opening of the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Student 7-a-side Football Tournament

(NLDO) - The qualifying round of the 2024 7-a-side football tournament for students - Ho Chi Minh City area has officially begun with 16 teams from universities competing at Ton Duc Thang University Stadium.

On the afternoon of October 1, the 7-a-side football tournament for Ho Chi Minh City students competing for the Thien Khoi Cup (SV7 2024) - the qualifying round for Ho Chi Minh City took place in a vibrant opening ceremony at Ton Duc Thang University (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City). With the slogan "Study hard, play hard", SV7 2024 is a tournament that gathers the top student football teams from all over the country.

At the opening ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City regional qualifying round, representatives of 16 student teams from the following schools participated: Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports, Saigon University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education,FPT Polytechnic College, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, University of Finance and Marketing, Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, People's Police University, Gia Dinh University, Saigon University of Technology, Van Lang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, Van Hien University.

Representative of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports presented flowers for the opening match of the tournament.

SV7 started as a football tournament with only 8 schools in Hanoi. After 2 successful seasons, the 3rd season was expanded to 40 participating schools and has become an indispensable tournament for students across the country.

The SV7 2024 qualifying round has two remaining regions: Hanoi and Da Nang. At the end of the qualifying round, the organizing committee will select the top 2 teams from each region and 2 guest teams to participate in the national final round, taking place from October 22 to 30 at Ton Duc Thang University Stadium (HCMC).

The qualifying round champion will receive 20 million VND in prize money. The SV7 2024 champion will receive 50 million VND, the runner-up will receive 30 million VND..., along with prizes for outstanding individuals.
