End of Dong Nai Health Sector Trade Union activities from July 1, 2025

(DN) - On the morning of June 27, at the Department of Health, a conference was held to announce the end of the activities of the Dong Nai Health Sector Trade Union. The end date is July 1, 2025.

The Health Sector Trade Union is under the Provincial Labor Federation, managing 33 grassroots trade unions with nearly 12,000 union members. Over the past time, the Health Sector Trade Union has made an important contribution to gathering workers through each historical period by reorganizing the Department of Health and its affiliated units.

Implementing the policy on organizational restructuring, from June 15, 2025, 4 grassroots trade unions (CCTU) of administrative and public service agencies receiving 100% state budget salary under the Health Sector Trade Union will cease operations, including: Department of Health, Testing Center, Dinh Quan District Medical Center, Social Work Center and Children's Protection Fund. The remaining 29 CCTUs with more than 11,500 union members will be handed over to the Provincial Labor Federation for management.

Speaking at the conference, Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation Bui Thi Nhan expressed her gratitude to the health sector union staff. At the same time, she said that the termination of the health sector union's activities is part of the general policy of restructuring the apparatus from the central to local levels.

However, this is only a change in the management model, while union activities are still carried out according to the instructions and regulations of the union organization. The provincial union will directly manage the grassroots unions instead of the health sector union as before.

Deputy Director of the Department of Health Vo Thi Ngoc Lam highly appreciated the results of the activities of the Health Sector Trade Union in the past time. Thereby, it has protected the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers. The leaders of the Department of Health hope that the activities of the Trade Union will continue to go into depth, becoming a reliable support for workers.

On this occasion, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded the medal "For the cause of building Vietnamese trade union organizations" to individuals of the Dong Nai Health Sector Trade Union.
