JJ Spaun wins 2025 US Open golf tournament

(Dan Tri) - American golfer JJ Spaun caused a big surprise when he won the prestigious US Open tournament. This tournament ended in the early morning of June 16 (Vietnam time).

The US Open is a major tournament (equivalent to the Grand Slam tournaments in tennis). Therefore, this tournament attracts most of the world's top golfers today.

After the final match on the morning of June 16, JJ Spaun won the championship with a total score of -1 stroke. Second place was Robert MacIntyre (Scotland), with a total score of +1 stroke.

Meanwhile, former world number two Viktor Hovland won a total score of +2 strokes, ranking 3rd in this year's tournament.

Other golfers who finished high at the tournament included former world number one Jon Rahm (Spain). He finished T7 (tied for 7th), equal to world number one Scottie Scheffler (USA). Each had a total score of +4 strokes.

Meanwhile, world number 3 and 2020 Tokyo Olympic champion Xander Schauffele (USA) has a total score of +6 strokes, in T12 position. This is the same position as former world number one Brooks Koepka (USA).

For JJ Spaun, this is the first major title of his career. If counting the titles on the PGA Tour (equivalent to the Masters tournaments in tennis), JJ Spaun has the second title.
