On June 11, speaking during a visit to an exhibition of Iran's nuclear projects, mentioning a potential nuclear deal with the United States, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei affirmed: "There is no problem with a nuclear deal, but Iran's nuclear industry must not be touched."

“On the basis of Islamic ideals, we do not want to possess nuclear weapons… But if that does not happen, they cannot stop us, or change our nuclear progress so far,” he also stated.

Regarding information released by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) last week, stating that Iran has only partially cooperated with nuclear inspection requirements under a bilateral agreement in early 2023, he affirmed that the Islamic Republic will continue to cooperate with the United Nations nuclear watchdog.

Earlier, on June 10, French President Emmanuel Macron had a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi. The French leader expressed concern about Tehran's nuclear program and asked the country to implement clear and verifiable de-escalation measures... as well as its international obligations and previous commitments to the IAEA.

On June 9, Iran's permanent mission to the United Nations also denied information that the country had reached a "provisional agreement" with the US on its nuclear program.

US National Security Council Strategic Coordinator John Kirby also denied information related to such a document.
