On September 6, the leader of Phu Duc General Hospital ( Hung Yen province) said that the health of 41 primary school students and a teacher who were hospitalized after a lunch at a boarding school has stabilized and is progressing well; of which, on September 5, 5 students were discharged from the hospital. If nothing changes, next Monday (September 8), 37 students and a teacher will be discharged from the hospital.
On the same morning, the delegation of the Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen province visited Phu Duc General Hospital to visit and encourage students and teachers who are receiving health care at the hospital; at the same time, the delegation had a working session with the leaders of Phu Duc commune and the Board of Directors of An My Primary School.
The Board of Directors of An My Primary School reported that they have provided records and food samples to the Hung Yen Province Food Safety Department for testing since September 3, but the results are not yet available. The school has also temporarily suspended the organization of meals for boarding students.
The Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen province has requested the People's Committee of Phu Duc commune to review and clarify the responsibilities of organizations and individuals related to the organization of boarding at An My Primary School according to regulations.
The Department has also promptly issued an official dispatch to strengthen the management of boarding work in primary schools to rectify schools in organizing boarding for students.
In the coming time, the Department of Education and Training will coordinate with the Department of Health , communes and wards to strengthen inspection of boarding organization at primary schools to ensure absolute safety and proper nutrition in meals for students.
Previously, a reporter from Vietnam News Agency reported that on the afternoon of September 3, after a lunch at An My Primary School (Phu Duc Commune, Hung Yen Province), a teacher and 41 students of the school were given emergency treatment at Phu Duc General Hospital.
Almost all the students admitted to the hospital had similar symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, and loose stools. The most serious case was the female teacher, who was admitted to the hospital at around 5pm on September 3 with severe abdominal pain, and it was not until 9pm that the pain stopped...
Phu Duc General Hospital has mobilized additional teams of doctors, nurses, and digestive disorders treatment staff and food poisoning monitoring for teachers and students.
The provincial Food Safety and Hygiene Department sent officers to the grassroots level, to Phu Duc General Hospital, An My Primary School, and Phu Duc commune to verify and collect information about the incident.
