On the afternoon of December 29, the General Statistics Office held a press conference to announce socio -economic statistics for 2023 in the province.

The General Statistics Office announced socio-economic data for 2023.

According to the estimated data published by the General Statistics Office, the growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the province ranks 20th in the country and 7th out of 11 provinces in the Red River Delta.

Economic growth in 2023 reached 7.37% over the same period (in 2022, it increased by 9.52%). Some production and business sectors have recovered production, investment attraction has improved, especially foreign direct investment has grown significantly compared to previous years; the disbursement rate of public investment is among the top in the country, estimated disbursement in 2023 is nearly 6,300 billion VND, reaching 128% of the capital plan assigned by the Prime Minister, reaching 72.9% of the local capital plan; cultural and social fields are comprehensively directed. In 2023, GRDP in Thai Binh province (2010 comparative price) is estimated at 67,948 billion VND, up 7.37% compared to 2022.

The agriculture, forestry and fishery sector is estimated at VND 13,794 billion, up 2.28% over the same period, contributing 0.49 percentage points to the overall growth rate. The industry - construction sector is estimated at VND 30,196 billion, up 11.60% over the same period, contributing 4.96 percentage points to the growth rate; of which: the industry sector increased by 14.56% (contributing 4.25 percentage points), the construction sector increased by 5.24%. The service sector is estimated at VND 19,723 billion, up 6.13% over the same period, contributing 1.80 percentage points to the overall growth rate; product taxes contribute 0.12 percentage points to the overall growth rate. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in 2023 is estimated at VND 69,240 billion, up 15.3% over the same period last year.

Total state budget revenue in 2023 is estimated at VND 24,504 billion, reaching 116.7% of the estimate, down 10.3% over the same period last year; of which, domestic revenue is estimated at VND 10,189 billion, down 12%; export and import tax revenue is estimated at VND 1,580 billion, down 53.4%; central budget subsidies are estimated at VND 7,149.5 billion, down 16.1%.

At the press conference, the General Statistics Office also spent a lot of time answering a number of questions from delegates on issues related to the socio-economic situation in 2023 such as: growth rate of total product in the province; total state budget revenue in 2023, investment attraction activities...
