Although the D-segment sedan segment is facing a difficult situation in terms of sales, Toyota Camry is still the model with the highest number of customers in the segment. Toyota dealers delivered 239 Camry cars to customers in May, a slight decrease compared to the 264 cars achieved in April.

More surprisingly, the May business results helped Toyota Camry capture 93.4% of the segment's market share while its competitors were in a slump. Toyota Camry's cumulative sales from the beginning of the year to date reached 940 vehicles.

Currently, Toyota Vietnam has cut the June promotion for the Toyota Camry model. However, some dealers are offering Toyota Camry VIN 2024 with a discount of up to 100 million VND to clear inventory. The listed price of Toyota Camry is 1.22 - 1.53 billion VND.

Kia K5 ranked second with only 17 cars, holding 6.6% market share in the segment. Compared to April (reaching 32 cars), Kia K5 sales decreased by 46.8% and entered the list of 10 slowest-selling cars in the market in May.

To boost sales in June, THACO reduced the price of Kia K5 by 30 million VND. Meanwhile, the price list of Kia K5 ranges from 849 - 957 million VND. Total sales of Kia K5 since the beginning of the year reached 98 cars.

At the bottom of the list are still Mazda6 and Honda Accord. However, the sales volume of the two Japanese models is zero. The total number of cars sold in the first 5 months of the year of Mazda6 reached 56 cars, Honda Accord reached 15 cars.

There are many reasons why Mazda6 and Honda Accord in particular, and other D-segment sedans in general, are in a slump. Besides slow innovation, high prices, and limited options, consumer trends are also factors that cause this segment's sales to decline.

The Vietnamese market currently has many attractive, low-priced, high-chassis, option and high-tech car models, attracting the attention of customers. Most Vietnamese customers now choose these options instead of D-class sedans to reduce financial pressure when realizing their dream of a car.
