Song of the River's Confession
“Always remember the old traditions. Create a solid position. Worthy of being Tay Do - the capital of the West. Fly up with the whole country. Enter the future era”, the lyrics in the style of the Flower Song, which ended the performance “Love confession of the river”, made an impression on the audience. With the story of 2 tourists and 4 girls transformed into a storytelling river, the rich history and culture of Can Tho land was skillfully conveyed by author Hoai Minh, full of emotion.
Another very impressive performance was the song and dance medley “The First Communist - Our Party Has the High Sun” which opened the competition of Can Tho City. The performance praised the Party and beloved President Ho Chi Minh , with elaborate and artistic staging. The harmony, arrangement, and connection of the two songs were very creative and sublime.
These are 2 of the 5 performances participating in the competition of Can Tho City, the rest are the song and dance medley "The country is rising - Can Tho aspires to reach far", the folk song "River market" and the independent dance "Faith and strength". With the scale and significance of this national mobile propaganda competition, the Can Tho City Cultural and Arts Center has invested in a very meticulous and artistic competition program. In particular, the highlight of the program is the strong cultural identity of Can Tho City with the genres of folk songs, folk songs, Khmer folk dances... conveying the beauty and aspiration of the land of "white rice, clear water". 35 artists and actors participating in the competition from art units of Can Tho City after the merger brought impressive and harmonious artistic colors.
According to the leader of the Can Tho City Cultural and Art Center, within the framework of the competition, Can Tho City and other units also participated in 4 nights of performance to serve the people in Tuyen Quang Province and Hai Phong City, in which they played the role of performance commander in the night in Tuyen Quang Province. The shows were all very successful, attracting a large audience to watch and cheer. In particular, when people heard the folk songs and vọng cổ from the river delta region, everyone loved them. That made the artists and actors more joyful and motivated.
