According to information from VFF, after the loss to the Chinese team, coach Philippe Troussier gave many words of encouragement to the players. He emphasized that this is still the preparation stage to serve the main goal of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

The French coach wants his players not to worry too much about the results of friendly matches, and at the same time appreciates his students' ability to grasp and gradually implement tactical ideas.

The Vietnamese team suffered a 0-2 defeat in a friendly match against China on the evening of October 10. Coach Troussier and his team played well in the first half. The players in white controlled the ball more and created the same number of chances as the home team.

In the second half, the Chinese team played more effectively and scored 2 goals from poor defensive situations of the Vietnamese team.

The performance was not really convincing but coach Troussier affirmed that he would not give up the philosophy applied to the Vietnamese team. He said: " To prepare for the Asian Cup and the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, we will definitely not give up pursuing our new playing style and new philosophy ."

Today, October 11, Coach Troussier divided the team into two groups. The group of players who started the match against China practiced recovery and physical therapy at the hotel. The remaining group practiced according to the daily training plan. The French coach wanted the whole team to be ready for the match against Uzbekistan on October 13.

In October, the Vietnamese team played three matches against China, Uzbekistan and South Korea. The coaching staff of the Vietnamese team and the Uzbekistan team agreed to consider the matches between the two sides as internal matches, not counting FIFA rankings.

The match is expected to have no limit on the number of players allowed to enter the field as substitutes. However, to ensure that the match is not interrupted, each team will only have 4 substitutions (3 during the match and 1 during halftime).

The match will take place on the field where the Vietnamese team has been training since arriving in China. This field is located within the Dalian Sports Complex (China).
