On the afternoon of June 26, Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong said goodbye to Ha Tinh Club . This was a surprising decision because last season, the 48-year-old strategist helped Ha Tinh achieve good results, especially a series of more than 10 unbeaten matches in the first leg, losing only 4 matches throughout the season and winning 5th place overall. Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong said he asked to resign for health reasons and was accepted by the Ha Tinh Club's leadership.
Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong started leading Ha Tinh from phase 2 of V-League 2021. The coach from Nghe An helped the Hong mountain team escape the relegation group with a series of 3 consecutive victories.
After the 2021 season had to be canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in the 2022 V-League, Ha Tinh finished in 11th place with 24 points. In the 2023 season, coach Thanh Cong helped Ha Tinh enter the group of 8 teams competing for the championship.
A year later, Ha Tinh faced many difficulties, finishing second to last and having to play a play-off against PVF-CAND. In this match, Ha Tinh defeated the First Division team 3-2, thereby continuing to stay in the highest level of Vietnamese football before playing impressively in the 2024/25 season.
