Singer Khanh Ly - third prize winner of Sao Mai 2011 - has just released the MV Con mai voi non song right on the occasion of the whole country celebrating the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27.

The MV was composed by People's Artist Pham Phuong Thao from the poem by Khanh Duong, arranged by Pham Tuan Anh, and recorded live at historical sites in Quang Tri : Thach Han River Wharf, Ancient Citadel, Hien Luong Bridge - Parallel 17, Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery...

Patriotism does not wait for trends

Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online , Khanh Ly said she is a person who does what she likes, is determined to do, loves music 100%, loves her country 100% and loves everyone 100%.

The singer said the MV originated from a conversation with artist Pham Phuong Thao about his intention to release a product to pay tribute to the generation of ancestors who died for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Pham Phuong Thao remembers the song "Con mai voi non song " composed in chamber music style - Khanh Ly's forte, so she introduces it.

Unexpectedly, when listening to the first melodies, Khanh Ly was drawn into the historical space, the lyrics touched her heart: "Oh Central Vietnam, oh Quang Tri / The carrying pole bends at both ends of the country / Each piece of sacred land is soaked with the blood of many people"...

"The lyrics are simple but touching, the story is calm but full of loss, making me feel like I'm living in the heroic but painful moments of the nation," Khanh Ly said.

Returning to Quang Tri to film the MV, Khanh Ly had memorable experiences. Coming to the Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery, looking at thousands of graves, many of the martyrs were in their late teens and early twenties, she burned incense and sang without holding back her tears. When filming on the Thach Han River, from the shore it looked peaceful, "just small", but sitting on a boat in the middle of the river, the river was wide and deep...

After Forever with the Country, the artist said The feeling of gratitude is still full in her heart. She will continue to make more products about soldiers, heroic Vietnamese mothers and historical stories to spread gratitude and national pride.

People's Artist Quang Tho: Having another "red" song is a precious thing

Starting slowly, like a whisper, Khanh Ly leads the audience to Quang Tri and "admire" the unforgettable heroic history.

In the following passage, the chamber voice, which is the artist's strong point, becomes the means to express the artist's emotions in the highest and most complete way.

Pham Phuong Thao is a singer who comes from folk music, especially Vi Dam folk songs, but recently she has tried her hand at composing, mainly pop music.

Forever with the mountains and rivers is one of the rare chamber music pieces she performed.

The artist said she thought of the generosity and greatness of the country, so when composing music, she chose chamber music as the main color.

When listening to the song, musician Duc Trinh - chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association - commented, "Pham Phuong Thao has overcome herself, the melody transcends herself to touch greater things."

People's Artist Quang Tho said that there are many different music genres nowadays, but red music is not as important as it used to be. Having a song/MV/or a live show of red music is a precious thing.

"It is the next generation of artists like Khanh Ly and Pham Phuong Thao that make those of us who have been steering this revolutionary music boat for decades proud, once again showing the eternal beauty and longevity of this music genre," the artist said.
