An Ninh Commune Police, Can Tho City, launched the movement "All people protect national security" for monks and Buddhists at Peng Som Rath Pagoda.

In the past, Giong Chua A hamlet had a situation where young people gathered to cause disorder and petty disputes. However, since the implementation of the "Security Camera" model associated with the self-management and security movement, this has no longer happened. Mr. Lam Thanh Phong, Giong Chua A hamlet, shared: "Responding to the movement of All people protecting national security, people have provided a lot of information, contributing significantly to maintaining order in the hamlet. In my family, I also regularly remind my children and grandchildren to stay away from social evils and actively participate in the self-management group to protect the peaceful village."

Bung Trop B Hamlet also implemented the “Security Camera” model with clear results. Mr. Son Thi, Bung Trop B Hamlet, said: “Since the installation of surveillance cameras and street lights, the theft has decreased significantly, making it safer for people to go out on the streets.”

After the merger, the population of An Ninh commune is more than 40,000 people, with Khmer people accounting for over 50%. To maintain security and order, the Commune Police acts as the core to advise the Commune People's Committee to maintain and expand many models: "Monks and Buddhists participate in crime prevention and control", "Security cameras", "Security keychains", "Security loudspeakers", "Bright - green - clean - beautiful roads"... Thereby, promoting the strength of the people in crime prevention and control. From the beginning of 2025 until now, people have provided the Commune Police with many valuable reports, helping to solve 12 cases, effectively preventing social evils right at the grassroots level.

Lieutenant Colonel Lam Hoai Thanh, Deputy Chief of An Ninh Commune Police, commented: “People are very active in prevention and directly participate in maintaining security and order. The outstanding model is “Monks and Buddhists participating in crime prevention and control”, which has created trust and Khmer people actively join hands, thanks to which the security and order situation in the area has always been stable for many years”.

Not only maintaining security, self-management models are also associated with building cultural life. The movement of All people uniting to build cultural life combined with the movement of All people protecting national security has created a resonance in building more peaceful hamlets. Prestigious people among the Khmer and Catholic people have also tried to promote their roles, becoming a bridge between the government and the people in building their homeland.

With the consensus of the entire political system and the entire population, An Ninh commune has maintained the title of safe commune for many years. According to Lieutenant Colonel Lam Hoai Thanh, in the coming time, the Commune Police will advise on continuing to expand the self-management model, associated with movements to build a cultural life; further promote the dissemination of laws, raise people's awareness so that An Ninh commune is always a peaceful area.

An Ninh Commune is gradually affirming its effectiveness in maintaining security and order right from the grassroots level, creating a foundation for more sustainable local socio-economic development.
