Mr. Nguyen Van Quy (Tam Hiep ward, Dong Nai province) shared: “Once I took the bus, as soon as I got on the bus, I saw other passengers turning on their phones to watch movies, laughing and talking loudly. The driver or staff reminded them, but not everyone cooperated”. Meanwhile, Ms. Hong Hanh (residing in Tam Hiep ward, Dong Nai province) said: “Sitting waiting to see a doctor and constantly having to listen to other people talking on the phone through the speaker is very tiring. Everyone has their own business, but should be more considerate”.
According to sociologists, this seemingly small behavior reflects the culture of public behavior. A civilized society requires each individual to know how to adjust their behavior, including using the phone properly, in accordance with public space.
To overcome this situation, first of all, it is necessary to raise awareness from each person. When making a phone call, lower your voice, use a headset or find a private place. In crowded places, management agencies should install notice boards reminding people such as: Do not use the loudspeaker to maintain public order. In addition, schools and families also need to educate students and children about public behavior skills, from small things such as maintaining order and speaking loudly enough to be heard.
Mobile phones are a useful means of communication, but if used improperly, they can become a “noise source” that affects many people. If everyone raises their awareness, the community will have a more civilized, polite and pleasant living environment.
