Solving difficulties for some public health service units

At the 34th session (special session), the 10th term People's Council of Soc Trang province passed a resolution agreeing on the policy of providing funding to support a number of self-financed public health service units of groups 2 and 3 in the province.

In recent times, the implementation of the autonomy mechanism at a number of medical centers and hospitals in the province has encountered many difficulties and obstacles, especially affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in the period of 2021-2022. This has led to an imbalance in revenue and expenditure in implementing salary reform, purchasing drugs, chemicals, medical supplies, etc.

Based on the above reality, the Provincial People's Council has decided to provide funding to support units facing difficulties with a total amount of more than 67 billion VND. Of which, more than 37.5 billion VND is spent on repaying the 35% source to implement salary reform; more than 29.8 billion VND is spent on paying for medicine, chemicals, medical supplies and related expenses.

The adoption of the resolution will help public health units to completely resolve financial difficulties in the process of implementing the autonomy mechanism. Thereby, creating conditions for units to stabilize their operations and focus on performing well the tasks of caring for, protecting and improving people's health.
