Following strategic orientations on infrastructure and institutions, Gia Lai province is gradually transforming vision into concrete actions with a series of key projects being launched, and the investment environment has been significantly improved.
On the new journey, Gia Lai not only expands its geographical space, but also expands its development thinking, taking regional connectivity as the driving force, innovation as the method and people as the center.
Trust from the business community
Gia Lai today is a land of coffee hills, vast pepper gardens, long green beaches and untapped potential. At the 2025 Investment Promotion Conference, many investors expressed special interest in the areas that the province is prioritizing for development.
Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company, shared that he had invested in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and many other big cities, but Gia Lai was always a favorite place, because this is a land with depth and potential. Since 2001, Mr. Duc has implemented many projects here, including the fields of processing industry, services, trade and agriculture . However, investment is not always favorable. He believes that if there is the support of the government, transparency in policies and determination from businesses, all difficulties can be overcome.
“If we act together, Gia Lai will not only be an investment destination, but also a destination of trust, sustainable development and humanity. Hoang Anh Gia Lai commits to continue accompanying Gia Lai province in upcoming projects, especially in the fields of processing industry and urban development. I am also willing to share experiences, connect domestic and foreign investors to together create a new, modern, dynamic and integrated Gia Lai,” Mr. Duc affirmed.
A representative of Thanh Thanh Cong-Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company with an agricultural project worth 6,000 billion VND said that they chose Gia Lai because this is a land with cultural depth, abundant agricultural resources and especially a clear development vision. The company has proposed a master plan to build the province into one of three strategic raw material areas, focusing on pillars such as developing high-tech Demofarm, investing in agricultural research institutes, expanding the fruit tree value chain and increasing the capacity of AgriS Gia Lai Sugar Factory. The company is committed to sustainable investment, harmonizing interests and contributing to making Gia Lai a new symbol of Vietnamese agriculture.
Many small and medium enterprises also expressed their desire to participate in the province's development value chain. They proposed that the province continue to improve administrative procedures, support land access and create conditions for local enterprises to connect with large investors. Therefore, Gia Lai needs to continue to promote the development of supporting industries, deep processing industries and high-tech agriculture. These are areas that can create great added value, attract high-quality workers and improve the province's competitiveness.
Many businesses want the province to pay more attention to building specialized industrial parks with synchronous infrastructure, clear incentive policies and support mechanisms for small and medium enterprises. In addition, the province needs to have a strategy for training human resources that meet the requirements of new industries such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, renewable energy, etc.
From vision to action
After the merger, Gia Lai now owns two economic zones, 24 industrial parks with a total area of 9,450 hectares and 99 industrial clusters with a total area of 5,400 hectares. Therefore, the province has a large total industrial land area, along with abundant clean land funds, distributed along the east-west traffic routes, coastal routes and international border gates. This is a favorable condition for investors to implement large-scale projects, linking production, processing, consumption, and expanding domestic and international markets. In addition, the province has prepared attractive infrastructure rental price frames (only from 25-60 USD/m²/50 years), much lower than some other localities in the country, creating a clear competitive advantage in attracting investment.
Currently, projects such as Phu My Deepwater Port are accelerating geological surveys and detailed planning; the Quy Nhon-Pleiku Expressway has completed technical documents and prepared the ground for construction to begin in October 2025. Phu My, Tra Da, and Ayun Pa industrial parks are being expanded, with additional technical infrastructure, support services, and worker housing.
In particular, on August 19, in Phu My Dong commune, the first phase of Phu My Industrial Park (437 hectares, investment capital of more than 4,500 billion VND) was started. This is a dynamic industrial infrastructure project, of strategic importance, aiming at green development, environmental friendliness and the Net Zero target. After completion in 2028, Phu My Industrial Park will become a center for high-tech manufacturing, supporting industry, and a core industry linkage, while promoting trade services, logistics, human resource training, etc.
Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that the province is committed to creating the most favorable conditions, always accompanying businesses with the motto "Listening together, discussing together, implementing together, sharing results together and overcoming difficulties together". Gia Lai is steadfast in its viewpoint of constantly improving the investment environment, aiming to become an "ideal destination" for domestic and foreign investors, not only with attractive incentive mechanisms, but also with a synchronous infrastructure system, quality human resources and the strong and responsible support of the provincial government.
The province requires local authorities at all levels to assign KPI targets to each department, branch, and 135 communes and wards. Building a team of officials and civil servants who are “the right person for the right job”, with political courage, innovative thinking, public ethics, professional style, and the ability to adapt to digital transformation, especially innovating management methods from “control” to “service and innovation”, considering people and businesses as the center, as “customers” of state administrative agencies.
It can be seen that one of the strategic breakthroughs that Gia Lai pays special attention to is building a creative, streamlined, effective and efficient government. The province has issued many unique and outstanding mechanisms and policies to remove bottlenecks, improve the investment environment, and enhance provincial competitiveness. The Public Administration Service Center has been upgraded to a modern "one-stop shop" model, integrating digital services, supporting investors from the survey stage, project establishment to actual implementation. Administrative procedures are digitized, shortening processing time, reducing costs and increasing transparency.
More importantly, the province maintains its identity during the transformation process. Gong festivals, highland markets, traditional handicrafts, etc. are still present in events as a reminder that development does not mean losing oneself.
