Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai, member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Mr. Ha Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, along with representatives of departments, branches, organizations and localities.

With all sincerity, the delegates and nearly 500 union members and youths held a flag-saluting ceremony, offered incense and flowers at the monuments of heroic martyrs. This was followed by the traditional torch-lighting and incense-offering and candle-lighting ceremonies at the martyrs’ graves.

At the program, the organizers awarded 30 gifts to families with meritorious services and 10 scholarships to students who have overcome difficulties to study in the commune with a total value of 40 million VND.

After the gratitude activity, the art program "July Gratitude" performed by Hue Opera and Drama Theater brought profound and emotional performances, as a heartfelt gratitude to the generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for the Fatherland.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoai, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, Secretary of the City Youth Union - Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of Hue City said: These days, in each locality and unit, hundreds of thousands of young people are participating in many meaningful activities to demonstrate the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude". These are visiting, giving gifts, helping families with meritorious services, taking care of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; implementing the model of "Gratitude Meal"; simultaneously organizing the program "Lighting candles to pay tribute to heroic martyrs" at 112 cemeteries and memorial temples in the area; taking care of the graves of martyrs, cemeteries, martyrs' memorials...
