Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVN Hanoi ) has just announced its consolidated financial report for the second quarter. In the past quarter, the company recorded net revenue of more than VND 17,349 billion, an increase of more than 7% over the same period last year. Gross profit reached more than VND 1,014 billion, an increase of more than 22% over the second quarter of 2024.
During the period, EVN Hanoi's financial revenue decreased slightly, reaching over VND32 billion. Financial expenses did not fluctuate much, at over VND298 billion, of which interest expenses were VND271 billion. Selling expenses increased slightly to VND208 billion, while business management expenses increased by more than 19% to VND320 billion.
EVN Hanoi recorded other income of more than VND229 billion in the last quarter, while in the same period last year it only reached VND1.9 billion. After deducting expenses and taxes, the company recorded a profit after tax of more than VND446 billion, while in the same period last year, the company lost up to VND122 billion. Thus, on average, the company earns nearly VND5 billion per day.
However, in the first 6 months of the year, EVN Hanoi still reported a loss of more than 264 billion VND, while in the same period last year, the company recorded a profit after tax of more than 860 billion VND.
As of June 30, EVN Hanoi's total assets reached over VND36,476 billion, up nearly 4% compared to the beginning of the year. Of which, short-term assets accounted for over VND12,000 billion. The company is holding over VND544 billion in cash and cash equivalents, three times higher than at the beginning of the year.
In addition, this enterprise has financial investments held to maturity of more than VND 2,721 billion. On the contrary, by the end of the second quarter, the enterprise borrowed more than VND 17,900 billion from banks, an increase of more than VND 850 billion compared to the beginning of the year.
Previously, on May 9, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) announced an increase of 4.8% in the average retail electricity price. Accordingly, the average retail electricity price increased from VND 2,103.11/kWh to VND 2,204.06/kWh (excluding VAT), equivalent to an increase of more than VND 100/kWh. This is the second increase in electricity prices in less than a year, after the adjustment on October 11, 2024.
