The power of companionship and flexibility

Party members who are religious always play a special role, not only as those who implement the Party's guidelines and policies, but also as the silent "bridge" between religious beliefs and communist ideals. Their understanding of customs and beliefs, along with their exemplary conduct in community life, have helped them become the core force in mass mobilization work in religious areas.

In Truyen Nam village, My Thuong ward, where 99% of the population is Catholic, party members like Mr. Dang Anh Hung, Party cell secretary, or exemplary parishioner Mr. Ho Minh Loc, are the "nucleus" that ignites the local movement. From mobilizing land donations to open roads, urban beautification, to environmental protection and disease prevention - they are always pioneers, quietly but persistently. They not only set an example but also get close to convey the Party's policies to fellow believers in a flexible and receptive way.

“As a religious person, I have to be an exemplary person to prove that joining the Party does not mean giving up faith, but rather to better serve the community,” said party member Ho Minh Loc.

From quiet but persistent steps, many areas that were once considered “white” of party members have now formed strong party organizations, capable of comprehensive leadership at the grassroots level. The Truyen Nam village party cell is a vivid example of that journey. This is a clear demonstration of the vitality, spread and persuasiveness of the Party in the hearts of people with beliefs and religions.

One of the important factors that helps strengthen the relationship between the Party and religious people is the flexible and humane mass mobilization method. Without imposition or bureaucracy, many Party committees in Hue City have chosen a flexible approach: Listening together, sharing together, and acting together.

In Phong Phu ward, party member Le Quang Phung, a former soldier and a devoted Catholic, has been encouraging believers to actively hang the national flag on major holidays. This result cannot come from orders, but from perseverance, prestige and sincerity.

In Tay Loc ward (now Phu Xuan), Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, former Chairwoman of the Front and the Ward Elderly Association, gently mobilized the Buddhist community to actively participate in the movement to protect the environment and build a civilized urban area.

Not only does it stop at propaganda or mobilization, flexibility is also shown in party organization work, especially in creating sources and recruiting party members in religious areas. The key point is to discover and nurture from practice, from individuals who live well, are active in organizations, and have prestige in the community. Not "just digest", not mechanically, but flexibly schedule party cell activities, avoid overlapping with worship hours; at the same time, skillfully explain so that believers understand that the Party does not require them to abandon their faith - they just need to live well and serve society.

From "red seeds" to "forest" of great solidarity

According to statistics, Hue City currently has 727 party members who are religious; of which, 610 are Buddhists and 106 are Catholics. They are the “red seeds”, an important link in maintaining security and order, building cultural life, donating land to open roads, protecting the environment, etc. They are not only party members, but also inspirations in the community.

For the "red seeds" to take root and develop strongly, there needs to be systematic guidance from the Party organization and synchronous coordination from the political system. The model of "3 meetings, 4 knowledge" being implemented by Party committees and political systems in Hue City is a proof: Meet the people - meet dignitaries - meet religious organizations; know their thoughts - know their circumstances - know their abilities - know their aspirations. Thanks to that, many believers have overcome their fears and boldly expressed their desire to join the Party.

Without a mechanism for timely monitoring, rewards, and encouragement, many “seeds” will be forgotten. Therefore, it is necessary to assign specific tasks to mass organizations, establish a “religious human resource map,” and promptly commend typical religious figures who aspire to join the Party.

Our Party's consistent viewpoint is: Developing Party members who are religious is not only a political task, but also a profound expression of the policy of great national unity. Not everyone who is religious will be a Party member, but a good Catholic can absolutely be a good Party member if they live for the community.

“A good Catholic can also be a good party member if he lives for the community. Faith does not prevent patriotism, but on the contrary, it makes patriotism higher and more sacred,” affirmed Mr. Ho Hieu, Head of Truyen Nam village.

The bond between the Party and religious people is not woven by slogans or orders, but by trust, empathy and persistent actions from the grassroots. There, religious Party members are the “fire keepers” – keeping the flame of great solidarity always warm in the hearts of the nation.

“Developing party members who are religious is not only a political responsibility, but also a profound expression of the policy of great national unity. It is necessary to understand, persevere, and advocate with all our hearts,” affirmed Ms. Nguyen Thi Ai Van, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City.
