The "Opening the Way to the Future" project, jointly implemented by the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the VinaCapital Foundation (VCF), has completed two meaningful phases over the past 16 years, helping more than 100 ethnic minority female students overcome difficulties, mature and become useful citizens for the community.

Recently, Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and VinaCapital Foundation (VCF) officially signed a memorandum of understanding, launching Phase 3 of the project "Paving the way to the Future" called "New Generation", continuing to accompany ethnic minority female students in difficult circumstances on the journey to conquer knowledge and assert themselves.

Ms. Truong My Hoa, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President , former President of the Vietnam Women's Union - President of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund - spoke at the signing ceremony.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Truong My Hoa, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President, former President of the Vietnam Women's Union - President of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, said that, stemming from the love and care for ethnic minority female students, who suffer many disadvantages and are bound by ancient customs, we have created conditions to provide knowledge so that they can gradually raise their awareness, remove their prejudices and constraints, and strive to integrate into the common development of the nation.

It is known that, in addition to providing knowledge, the Project management team shared their thoughts and aspirations with the students, and together with them solved the obstacles and difficulties in the process of growing up. On the other hand, during the operation, the two units have together summarized the experiences through each stage to operate with increasingly better quality and efficiency. Thereby providing society with graduates not only with trained knowledge, but also a young generation with confidence, dynamism, hard-working, ready to accept difficulties to rise up to integrate into the times, assert themselves, and ready to contribute to the new society.

Typical examples include Nguyen Thi Huyen Thuong, a Tay ethnic group (Cao Bang province), who, after graduating with honors from the Foreign Trade University (Hanoi), returned to her village to open a free English class for children. Or Vu Thi Thuy Huong, a Cao Lan ethnic group (Tuyen Quang province), who became a traditional medicine doctor in her hometown. Or Huynh Kim Lien, a Khmer ethnic group (Ca Mau province), who is not only a good student but also active in social work, and was admitted to the Party while still a student. Not stopping there, many have reached out to the world. Like Loc Thi Toan, a Tay ethnic group, a student at the Diplomatic Academy, who received a scholarship from the US State Department's YSEALI program...

Talking about the next stage, former Vice President Truong My Hoa shared: "I have high hopes because we started implementing this Project at an important time for the country: the era of national development - a new stage of development. With the orientation of international integration, we hope to pave the way for the future for a new generation of young people, new ethnic female students, and continue to create conditions for them to study so that when they graduate, they can meet the requirements of the new stage: development of science and technology, foreign language requirements for integration. That is why we named the Project: Paving the way to the future - New generation".

With practical results and through very meaningful activities, it can be affirmed that the Project "Opening the way to the future" has helped children overcome gender prejudice barriers, bad customs that bind ethnic women, especially in remote areas. The flowers of the mountains and forests have been given the opportunity to discover their own potential, complete their studies, and be equipped with knowledge and skills to confidently spread their fragrance, integrate into the increasingly developing social life, and rise up to affirm their own beauty.
