Dong Nai proposes to add 1 more North-South high-speed railway passenger station in the province

(DN) - On August 6, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha signed Document No. 2576/UBND-KTN of the Provincial People's Committee sent to the Ministry of Construction on adding a high-speed railway station on the North-South axis in Xuan Hoa commune.

According to the Provincial People's Committee, the North-South high-speed railway project has been approved by the National Assembly in its investment policy in Resolution No. 172/2024/QH15 dated November 30, 2024.

According to the approved project documents, in Dong Nai province, it is expected to arrange the locations of passenger stations, cargo stations, and maintenance stations including: 1 passenger terminal in the area of ​​Long Thanh International Airport (airport); 1 cargo station in Quang Tien commune, Trang Bom district (old), now Trang Bom commune; 2 technical maintenance stations in Xuan Tam commune, Xuan Loc district (old), now Xuan Hoa commune and Cam Duong commune, Long Thanh district (old), now Xuan Duong commune.

Thus, with the 82km long North-South high-speed railway project section passing through Dong Nai province, only 1 passenger terminal will be arranged in the Long Thanh Airport area.

Meanwhile, the eastern area of ​​Dong Nai province, especially the communes of Xuan Loc, Xuan Phu, Xuan Hoa, has great potential for socio -economic development, large land fund and a strategic position in connecting the province with the South Central Coast provinces through National Highway 1 and Dau Giay - Phan Thiet Expressway.

Therefore, the Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Ministry of Construction consider and approve the policy of assigning the Railway Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction) to coordinate with the consulting unit to study and add 1 more passenger station in Xuan Hoa commune, Dong Nai province to the dossier of the North-South high-speed railway project.

According to the Provincial People's Committee, the location of the passenger station in Xuan Hoa commune ensures the distance to arrange an additional passenger station according to regulations.
