Dong Nai does not reduce targets for social housing development

Reporting at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Do Thanh Phuong said: Recently, the department has publicly posted information on selecting investors for 10 social housing projects. As a result, after the public announcement deadline, 22 investors registered with 43 applications for 9/10 projects; there was 1 project with no investor submitting an application. By August 14 at the latest, the Department of Construction will complete the appraisal to advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue a decision to assign investors.

Regarding the social housing development target for 2025, recently, the Provincial Party Committee has sent a document to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and registered with the Ministry of Construction the social housing target of Dong Nai province for 2025 and the following years until 2030. Accordingly, from now until 2030, the province will complete more than 64 thousand units, of which more than 3 thousand units will be completed in 2025.

The important resources available to implement this target include: more than VND 2.1 trillion from the province's housing development fund, more than 1,000 hectares of land for social housing (including public land and 20% of land in commercial housing projects), and 7 new land plots proposed for social housing construction to provide accommodation for officials, civil servants and armed forces.

The Department of Construction recommends that the Provincial People's Committee, for housing for officials, civil servants and public employees, assign the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board to be the investor, prepare investment policy documents; the Department of Finance advises on capital sources from the provincial housing development fund, the national housing fund or other sources. For housing for armed forces in the army, the Provincial People's Committee recommends the Ministry of National Defense for land plots to implement the project. For housing for the police force, the Department of Construction coordinates with the Provincial Police to advise the Provincial People's Committee to recommend suitable land plots to the Ministry of Public Security .

Regarding the removal of difficulties of some ongoing projects, the Department of Construction proposed that the Department of Agriculture and Environment advise on the final settlement of issues related to environmental impact assessment documents; the People's Committee of Phuoc Tan Ward is responsible for site clearance for the project of An Hung Phat Company Limited in Phuoc Tan Ward. Relevant units prioritize the supply of stone and commercial concrete for social housing projects, first of all the project of Chuong Duong Joint Stock Company in Long Hung Ward.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha emphasized: The province is determined not to reduce the social housing development target assigned by the Prime Minister to Dong Nai (old) and Binh Phuoc (old), nor to reduce the target registered with the Ministry of Construction for the period 2025-2030.

The Provincial People's Committee leader requested the Department of Construction to review and propose adding land plots (expected to be auctioned, developed into urban areas, commercial areas, services combined with housing) to the housing development program for the period 2021-2025 of Dong Nai province, as a basis for implementation and calling for investors.
