The 6th National Emulation Congress to commend good people and good deeds among Catholics, period 2020 - 2025, took place on September 11, in Hanoi.

On behalf of the leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Central Emulation and Reward Council, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Do Van Chien sent to the Congress a beautiful flower basket to express his affection, concern and deep trust in the patriotic emulation movement of Catholic compatriots.

Speaking at the Congress, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien stated: After nearly 40 years of implementing the Party's renewal policy, our country has achieved great achievements of historical significance. Never before has our country had such a foundation, position, potential and international prestige as it does today. The great national unity bloc has been constantly consolidated and strengthened. The lives of the people in general and Catholics in particular have been constantly improved. The people are at peace, with absolute trust in the leadership of the Party and State, trust in the regime and the bright future of the nation.

Respectfully acknowledging and warmly praising the outstanding and proud achievements that Vietnamese Catholics have achieved in the period of 2020 - 2025, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien affirmed: Vietnamese Catholics, under the leadership and launch of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee, Catholics nationwide have always strived to fulfill their aspirations of living "a good life and a good religion" and "living the Gospel in the heart of the nation", taking care of religious affairs and joining hands in worldly affairs. The patriotic emulation movement of Catholics in the period of 2020 - 2025 has spread the spirit of "respecting God and loving the country", devoting themselves to the community, "a good Catholic is also a good citizen". Through the emulation movement, many advanced models have emerged that have been recognized and highly appreciated by all levels and sectors, and have received many timely forms of rewards, worthy of the efforts of the people.

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee and Catholics nationwide together deeply imbued with the teachings of Pope Francis: "Vietnamese Catholics must be good citizens". Vietnamese Catholics must be patriots, accompanying the nation to build a prosperous and happy country. From there, continue to spread the spirit of patriotic emulation widely with specific and practical contents of the movements launched by the Government and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. Together with the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army, enter a new period, renew thinking, be creative, make breakthroughs, successfully implement the major policies of the Party, the laws of the State, the Resolutions of the 13th and 14th National Congresses of the Party - Mr. Do Van Chien suggested.

Referring to the three key goals in the coming time, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien suggested that the Central Committee of the Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics and Catholics nationwide unite and join hands to maintain independence, sovereignty , and territorial integrity; seize opportunities and advantages, overcome all difficulties and challenges, develop the economy quickly and sustainably, make the country rich and strong, make the people happy, and improve the material and spiritual life of the people.

After the Congress, the Catholic Solidarity Committees at all levels will promptly organize and effectively implement the directions, tasks and specific solutions set forth by the Congress; closely follow the grassroots and reality, promote the signing of coordination programs with state agencies, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and mass organizations to effectively implement patriotic emulation movements, especially the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas, live a good life and follow good religion" and social security, charity and humanitarian programs among Catholics in the period of 2025 - 2030, widely developing in all fields.

Mr. Do Van Chien noted that Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and mass organizations should coordinate more closely, creating favorable conditions for the patriotic emulation movement among Catholics and the activities of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee to develop more strongly and effectively; he hoped that the valuable experiences and practical lessons learned from the Congress would be a solid foundation for the patriotic emulation movement among Catholics to continue to develop more strongly and widely, going deeper and deeper, forming thousands of flowers of good people and good deeds in the colorful flower garden of the Vietnamese people.

Promoting the strength of national solidarity

The Congress determined that in the period of 2025 - 2030, the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee and the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committees of provinces and cities will continue to promote the spirit of initiative and creativity, continue to innovate the methods of organization and operation, and direct the content of emulation movements to the grassroots level; focus on ethical issues related to artificial intelligence (AI) - an issue that the new Pope Leo XIV is very interested in. Combine and concretize the content of patriotic emulation movements among Catholics towards the movement "The whole country competes in innovation and digital transformation" launched by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to promote innovation in thinking, build technology infrastructure and develop high-quality human resources, as well as promote digital transformation and technology application in various fields...

Over the past five years (2020 - 2025), Catholics across the country, through concrete actions and deeds, have always "Living the faith today" based on the foundation of charity and love. That has brought confidence to continue accompanying the nation, dedicating themselves to serving, and joining hands to promote the spirit of the strength of the great national solidarity bloc to contribute to the emulation to build and protect the Fatherland, achieving the highest achievements towards welcoming the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, contributing to building the homeland in the cause of national renewal in general.

The emulation movement "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas, live a good life and follow religion" associated with 8 contents launched by the Central Committee of the Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics has achieved more practical results, with profound political, economic, cultural and social significance. The specific actions of Catholic compatriots are vivid evidence of the spirit of patriotism and the tradition of solidarity, attachment and companionship with the nation, well implementing the 9 contents of the emulation launched at the 5th Emulation Conference, period 2015 - 2020.

There have been more and more good people, good deeds, typical and advanced, excellent in labor production, economic development, helping each other to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, promoting charitable and humanitarian activities, and strictly implementing the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws. The material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved, contributing to repelling social evils; maintaining political and social stability, the appearance of the country and parish is increasingly spacious and clean, the people are increasingly excited, assured to keep their religion and fulfill their civic responsibilities, the strength of the national solidarity bloc is increasingly consolidated and strengthened.
