Sharing with VietNamNet , Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhu Hue , Deputy Head of the Training and Development Management Department of the Academy of Journalism and Communication, said that through analyzing the distribution of high school graduation exam scores in 2025, it is predicted that the admission scores for the Academy's majors this year will basically be stable; if there is a decrease, there will only be slight fluctuations depending on the combination and major.
According to Ms. Hue, the Academy of Journalism and Communication has a special feature that all admission combinations based on high school graduation exam scores include Literature. However, this year, the score distribution for Literature has not changed much. Meanwhile, the Math and English exams are considered more difficult than last year, with good differentiation.
Therefore, for majors that are admitted using a combination of Math and English, especially in combination D01 which includes both Math and English, the benchmark score may decrease; the remaining combinations are not expected to be affected much.
Ms. Hue said that in 2025, the Academy of Journalism and Communication will convert English scores for candidates with English certificates, instead of just considering high school graduation exam scores. According to preliminary statistics up to this point, the number of candidates with English certificates such as IELTS, TOEFL ITP, APTIS (General), APTIS (Advanced), VSTEP registering for the Academy of Journalism and Communication has increased significantly compared to 2024, up to tens of thousands.
Therefore, although the average score of the English subject in the high school graduation exam is low, the conversion of certificate scores means that the admission score may still be high. "Therefore, the predicted benchmark score will basically be stable, possibly only decreasing slightly depending on the combination and each major," said Ms. Hue.

Ms. Hue also predicted that the majors with the highest benchmark scores at the Academy this year will still be the "hot" majors in the field of journalism and communication, such as: Multimedia Communication, Marketing Communication, Television Journalism, Electronic Journalism,...
However, Ms. Hue also said that the above predictions are for reference only, because the benchmark score depends not only on the admission score but also on other factors such as the quota of the industry/training program and the number of registered candidates.
As planned, the Academy of Journalism and Communication will hold an admissions council meeting on the afternoon of August 21 and announce the 2025 regular university admission scores before 5:00 p.m. on August 22, according to the general schedule of the Ministry of Education and Training.
In 2025, the Academy of Journalism and Communication will enroll 2,400 students (2,050 students for first degree, 350 students for second degree) with 4 admission methods: Academic transcript review; Combined admission; Admission based on high school graduation exam results; Direct admission and priority admission.
