Da Nang: 30 teams participate in the SURF 2025 innovation startup competition

DNVN - The preliminary round of the Danang 2025 Innovation and Startup Competition (SURF 2025) will be held on July 4 at the National Assembly Guest House in Danang (192 Vo Nguyen Giap, Phuoc My Ward, Son Tra District) with 30 participating teams.

Danang Innovation and Startup Festival 2025 (SURF 2025) organized by the Department of Science and Technology will take place over two days, July 29-30; including a virtual exhibition on the virtual platform at the link: vrfair.startupdanang.vn; a live exhibition of 100 booths and technology demonstration; a live Innovation and Startup Competition consisting of 2 rounds and 1 training course; and SURF 2025 Festival.

30 teams participating in the KNĐMST competition at SURF 2025 will present potential startup projects and solutions. The preliminary round will select 10/30 teams to advance to the final round (scheduled to take place on July 29). These teams will be trained in project writing skills, planning, project finance, etc. At the same time, they will receive enthusiastic support and guidance from the Jury to complete their exam well.

The preliminary round jury includes Mr. Trinh Quoc Bao - Deputy Director of Information Technology Center - VNPT Da Nang, Head of the jury; Ms. Tran Hanh Trang - CEO of Enosta Group; Mr. Vu Tien Dung - Director of Fundgo Da Nang Creative Startup Investment Fund; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung - Lecturer at Duy Tan University, CEO - Vinseed Biotechnology Company Limited; Mr. Bui Trung Hieu - Regional Manager of Solana Superteam Vietnam.

The jury considered the following criteria to find outstanding projects: Innovation and technology of products and services; ability to solve problems and meet market needs (usefulness); feasibility and sustainability of the business model; growth potential and market expansion (domestic and international); team, management and consulting capacity; marketing and communication plan; social and environmental impact (sustainability); presentation ability, answering questions, project presentation, etc.

The attraction of this year’s competition is that participating projects will have a direct dialogue with investors, investment funds and leading experts in the field of startups. This is not only an opportunity to listen to valuable comments but also an opportunity to guide the development of potential ideas and projects.

The first prize at the SURF 2025 KNDMST competition is worth 50 million VND, the second prize is 30 million VND, the third prize is 20 million VND and the consolation prize is 10 million VND (cash or equivalent in kind). In addition, this year there are 2 additional prizes: The most applicable project prize and the project prize with the best social impact.
