The Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union hands over the grassroots trade union to the Provincial Labor Federation.

On the afternoon of June 25, the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union held a Conference to announce the Decision to hand over grassroots Trade Unions to the Provincial Labor Federation.

Attending the conference were representatives of the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor, the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, along with many business leaders, Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of affiliated grassroots trade unions.

At the conference, the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union reviewed the 13-year journey of construction and development since its establishment in April 2012. From a modest number of 12 grassroots trade unions and 2,000 union members at the beginning, the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union has now grown to 82 grassroots trade unions, managing more than 46,000 union members. In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, the unit established 6 new grassroots trade unions and recruited 9,351 more union members.

Over the past 13 years, the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union has always accompanied and stood side by side with workers and businesses. Since then, trade union activities in economic zones and industrial parks of Nghe An province have had many positive and clear changes, contributing greatly to the stability of labor relations and employment in the area.

The unit regularly coordinates with the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board and competent authorities to monitor and inspect the implementation of the Labor Law, the Law on Occupational Safety and Hygiene, and Social Insurance at enterprises to provide guidance and promptly make recommendations and handle violations. Timely participate in resolving labor disputes and participating in dialogues, developing appropriate policies.

Trade unions at all levels have mobilized resources and regularly organized effective activities to improve practical material and spiritual benefits for union members and workers, visit and encourage workers and laborers in especially difficult circumstances, occupational accidents, occupational diseases, etc.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the unit directly participated in successfully resolving 2 strikes, spent nearly 14.5 billion VND on Tet care activities, and implemented many welfare programs for tens of thousands of union members...

On this occasion, to recognize the great contributions of the Union staff over the past time, the Southeast Economic Zone Union commended 70 outstanding Union staff who have made many contributions to the development of the unit.

The conference also officially announced the Decision of the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation on ending the activities of the Nghe An Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union from July 1, 2025.

Looking back on the 13-year development journey of the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union, representatives of grassroots Trade Unions, business leaders and leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation made emotional statements and shared experiences.

At the conference, the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union announced the decision to transfer the grassroots trade union units under its management to the Provincial Labor Federation. At the same time, the Standing Committee of the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union presented flowers of gratitude to the comrades who are members of the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and Inspection Committee of the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union, term III.

Chairwoman of the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union Hoang Thi Thu Huong expressed her gratitude to the leaders at all levels, businesses and especially all grassroots trade union officials who have accompanied her on the proud and meaningful 13-year journey. The end of this activity is in line with the Party and State's policy of streamlining and streamlining the apparatus, opening a new page for the trade union organization in the economic zone. Although the model has changed, the belief and mission of trade unionists will remain intact, continuing to accompany union members, workers and the sustainable development of the country.
