
Reporting at the meeting, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Da Nang City said that to deploy the response to storm No. 5, Da Nang City has organized serious on-duty shifts, closely monitored the storm's developments and weather conditions, and advised on the issuance of Notices and Official Dispatches directing units to deploy disaster response.
The city Border Guard has called and informed all 4,148 fishing boats with more than 21,000 workers, of which 7 boats are currently in the danger zone and are being contacted and instructed to move to avoid the storm. The aquaculture area at risk of being affected by the storm is more than 3,100 hectares; cage farming is about 4,630 cages. The number of fishing boats not operating and stuck in the ports is nearly 2,400.
Along with that, localities have also prepared plans to evacuate people in case of strong storms in the city, with the total number of people expected to be evacuated being more than 210,000 people.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman of the City People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet emphasized that although storm No. 5 has not yet made landfall, it is forecasted to be a strong storm. Therefore, all levels, sectors and localities must absolutely not be subjective in the face of the storm's developments, and must always be ready and proactively deploy all necessary response measures early.
Localities and units need to urgently and effectively operate the 112 hotline and promptly inform people to proactively take measures to prevent, avoid and minimize damage; ensure the "four on-site" motto suitable for each locality; at the same time, proactively plan to evacuate people from dangerous areas, ensuring maximum safety for people and property.
At the meeting, the City People's Committee announced the decision to establish the City Civil Defense Command Committee, with the Chairman of the City People's Committee as Head of the Committee.
