National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his pleasure at meeting Comrade Shii Kazuo; congratulated the Japanese Communist Party on winning many seats in the recent House of Representatives election; and thanked Comrade Chairman Shii Kazuo for leading the Japanese Communist Party delegation to attend the State funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in July 2024.
On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman conveyed the greetings of General Secretary To Lam and senior Party leaders to Chairman Shii Kazuo and leaders of the Japanese Communist Party.
Pleased to see that the Vietnam-Japan relationship has made good progress after more than 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations with the two sides upgrading their relationship to “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World”, the National Assembly Chairman stated that the political trust between the two countries has been increasingly consolidated. Cooperation in economics, investment, trade, tourism, science and technology, education and training, defense, security, etc. has achieved many positive developments.
The Communist Party of Vietnam consistently values the traditional solidarity and friendship with the Communist Party of Japan.

The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam consider Japan a top strategic partner, one of the high priorities in the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification; the Communist Party of Vietnam consistently attaches importance to the traditional solidarity and friendship with the Communist Party of Japan.

Sincerely thanking National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for taking the time to receive him, Comrade Shii Kazuo emphasized the tradition of solidarity and friendship between the Communist Party of Japan and the Communist Party of Vietnam built from the previous years of revolutionary struggle; affirmed that the Communist Party of Japan always considers the Communist Party of Vietnam a very trustworthy and open friend and partner; and wishes to continue developing the good relationship between the two Parties.
In the coming time, Comrade Shii Kazuo suggested that the two sides continue to implement agreements on strengthening bilateral relations through regular high-level exchanges and contacts; continue to organize theoretical exchanges; coordinate and support each other at international multilateral forums.
Agreeing with the assessments and directions for promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties in the coming time, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his deep gratitude for the sentiments and warm sharing that the Communist Party of Japan and comrade Shii Kazuo personally have for the Party, State and People of Vietnam.
The National Assembly Chairman suggested that the two Parties continue to actively coordinate closely in promoting the development of the bilateral relationship to become increasingly strong, comprehensive, and substantive, in line with the new level of the bilateral relationship that was upgraded in 2023; suggested that the Communist Party of Japan continue to have a voice with the Government in promoting and strengthening substantive cooperation in all fields, especially in trade, investment, new-generation ODA, security and defense, etc.; continue to support Vietnam's stance on the East Sea issue, and support the settlement of disagreements by peaceful means on the basis of compliance with international law.
The two leaders affirmed the importance of the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Communist Party of Japan; agreed to continue to promote exchanges and contacts between senior leaders through various flexible forms, especially between young leaders; continue to maintain and improve the effectiveness of the theoretical exchange mechanism, share viewpoints and positions on the world and regional situation, on the theory and practice of building socialism in the two countries and in the world.
