
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu, General Secretary of VFF, said that the National Women's Football Championship is one of the important tournaments in the national football competition system. Not only is it an opportunity for fair competition, the tournament is also an opportunity for players to compete and improve their skills, and is also an environment for scouts to select human resources for national teams. On that basis, Vietnamese women's football has achieved many remarkable results, most recently the Vietnam U20 women's team won a ticket to the 2026 Asian Cup Finals and the Vietnamese women's team continued to maintain its 6th position in Asia and 37th in the world on the FIFA rankings.
“VFF will direct the Organizing Committee to ensure the tournament is safe, professional, and of high quality, meeting the expectations of fans. We hope that the tournament in particular and women’s football in general will continue to receive support from fans, support from businesses, sponsors, and support from the media,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Phu.
The 2025 National Women's Football Championship will have the participation of 6 strong teams including: Hanoi, Phong Phu Ha Nam , Ho Chi Minh City 1, Ho Chi Minh City 2, Vietnam Minerals and Thai Nguyen T&T. The teams will compete in a round-robin tournament (round-trip) at the host locality to calculate the ranking points from 1-6. Regarding the award structure, the champion team will receive the Cup, Gold Medal and 500 million VND in prize money; the second prize team will receive the Silver Medal and 300 million VND in prize money; the third prize team will receive the Bronze Medal and 200 million VND in prize money.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded additional prizes including the stylish team prize with a bonus of 50 million VND; the prizes for the best player, best goalkeeper, player with the most goals and the referee team that completed their tasks excellently, each prize received a bonus of 20 million VND.
According to the draw results, in the opening match, Thai Nguyen T&T will meet Vietnam Coal and Minerals, Ho Chi Minh City 2 will meet Ho Chi Minh City 1 and Hanoi will meet Phong Phu Ha Nam. It is known that the first leg of the National Women's Football Championship will take place from September 4 to September 21, the second leg will take place from September 26 to October 13. The competition venue is expected to be in Hanoi.
