At 4 p.m., the center of the tropical depression was at about 18.1 degrees North latitude; 106.1 degrees East longitude, in the area of Ha Tinh - north of Quang Tri. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 6-7 (39-61 km/h), gusting to level 9. Moving west at a speed of 20-25 km/h.

Forecast at 04:00 on August 31, the tropical depression will move in the West Northwest direction, speed 20 km/h, weakening into a low pressure area.

Due to the influence of the tropical depression, the sea area from the south of Nghe An to the north of Quang Tri (including Hon Ngu island and Con Co special zone) has strong thunderstorms, strong winds of level 6-7, gusts of level 9; waves 2.0-4.0m high, rough seas. The sea area north of Bac Bo Gulf and Thanh Hoa has strong winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusts of level 9; waves 2.0-3.5m high, rough seas.

From the evening of August 30 to the end of August 31, the area from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh will have heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 100-180mm, locally over 300mm; the midland, Northern Delta and Quang Tri will have moderate to heavy rain, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 40-100mm, some places over 200mm.
