A fisherman from Quang Nam working on fishing boat QNa 94952TS was given emergency treatment by doctors in Truong Sa town, Khanh Hoa province after showing symptoms of acute appendicitis while fishing at sea.
Fisherman Tran Cong Nhanh began to have pain in the right lower abdomen and a mild fever at dawn on June 7 and received first aid at Thuyen Chai Island, then was transferred to Truong Sa Island that same evening in a conscious state, with severe abdominal pain and mild abdominal distension.
Through examination, testing and consultation with Military Hospital 175 , the patient was diagnosed with acute appendicitis at the 21st hour, with risk of peritonitis complications.
Doctors administered IV fluids, antibiotics, and performed an appendectomy.
