On July 1, 2025, the Da River witnessed a historic turning point: the three provinces of Hoa Binh, Vinh Phuc and Phu Tho merged into the new Phu Tho province. Hoa Binh city ended its journey, giving way to Hoa Binh ward - a merger of 7 wards: Phuong Lam, Dong Tien, Quynh Lam, Huu Nghi, Tan Thinh, Thinh Lang and Trung Minh. Spanning 3,200 hectares, embracing 75,000 hearts, the new ward erased old boundaries, to weave a prosperous urban picture, brilliant with aspirations.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, a resident born and raised in Phuong Lam area, shared: "The merger of 7 wards, I feel like small branches of the river merge into the larger Da Giang river, stronger, more united. We expect the new Hoa Binh ward to bring wide, tree-lined roads, job opportunities from tourism , services... so that our children and grandchildren do not have to leave their hometown. The name Hoa Binh given to the ward is a belief, pride and perhaps also a promise of a prosperous life, but still retains its identity so that each person today and tomorrow always has a Hoa Binh to return to."
The expectations of Ms. Lan and thousands of Hoa Binh people are gradually taking shape along the Da Giang River, where the river is not only a landscape, but also a source for an open urban space, blending nature, people and aspirations for development. With a vast water surface, flat alluvial land and two banks surrounded by mountains and hills, the Da River is a "green avenue" shaping the future of Hoa Binh ward.
According to comrade Nguyen Duc Dung, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hoa Binh Ward, the Da River is like the blood vessels of the land, planned to be chosen as the "heart" of development by 2045. Along the banks of the Da River, the first dots of the urban picture have appeared clearly. Huu Nghi Bridge with a total investment of 590 billion VND, completed in 2021, stretches out with two cable-stayed towers, lighting up the Da River every night, not only connecting the two banks but also opening up a bustling trade route. The 2 km long Da Giang walking street through Phuong Lam and Dong Tien, every weekend is bustling with the sound of gongs, traditional culinary flavors, typical OCOP products and smiles of tourists.
Hoa Binh Ward is a new administrative unit, but it carries within it the sacred memories of the whole land. The name "Hoa Binh" is not only a place name but also a memory, a pride, a thread connecting the past with the future. Calling the ward Hoa Binh is also to preserve the origin so that the familiar name will live forever in a new form.
Today, Hoa Binh Ward is like a sturdy boat, sailing down the Da Giang River, carrying Muong memories and dreams of prosperity. With the advantage of being "near the river, near the road, near the city", the ward will become a multifunctional center, where tourists immerse themselves in the bustling sound of gongs in the middle of a modern urban area; where investors see opportunities in every meter of land along the river. When the walking street is extended, the ecological park is formed... the Da Giang axis will be a brilliant "facade", reflecting the eternal aspiration of a Hoa Binh that is not only a name, but a place where every heart returns to its roots.
