According to Lao Cai Province's Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 4 hours (from 10pm on August 9 to 2am on August 10), many places in the area had moderate to heavy rain; Ta Cu Ty and Bac Ha communes alone recorded nearly 90mm of rain. Other areas had scattered showers.
It is forecasted that in the next 6 hours, some areas in the province will continue to have moderate to heavy rain, with accumulated rainfall ranging from 10 to 20mm, with some places over 50mm.

Faced with this situation, the Provincial Hydrometeorological Station requested the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue and local authorities at high risk, such as Bac Ha, Ban Lau, Nghia Do, Ban Lien, Pha Long, Cao Son, Simacai, Lung Phinh, Sin Cheng, Muong Khuong and Ta Cu Ty communes to urgently inform and propagate for people to proactively prevent and avoid; prepare rescue plans, and overcome if flash floods and landslides occur.
