Singer, Doctor of Music Khanh Ly has just released the MV Con mai voi non song, as a stick of incense sent to the heroes who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

MV "Forever with the mountains and rivers" by singer Khanh Ly.

The MV was filmed at sacred historical sites in Quang Tri such as Hien Luong Bridge - 17th parallel, Thach Han River, Quang Tri Citadel, Truong Son Martyrs Cemetery. The song has a modern chamber music style, composed by People's Artist Pham Phuong Thao from Khanh Duong's poem, arranged by musician Pham Tuan Anh.

"From the very first melodies, I was drawn into the historical space. The lyrics are simple, honest and touching," Khanh Ly shared.

Khanh Ly said the hardest thing when performing the song is not vocal technique, but emotion: " Technique can be practiced, but emotion is something that cannot be lied to. I want the audience, especially the young, to feel gratitude for the sacrifices of our ancestors."

The MV tells the story of a veteran father taking his daughter back to the old battlefield. Khanh Ly not only performs the song but also plays the role of the daughter in the story. Director Anh Quan highly appreciated her natural acting.

In the MV, images such as the scene of a girl gently stroking a mossy brick in the Citadel, thousands of candles flickering in the middle of Truong Son Cemetery, the scene of releasing lanterns on Thach Han River at dawn, or the scene of singing in the middle of the blue water... are pushed emotionally by Khanh Ly's powerful and soulful voice.

Sharing about the filming process, Khanh Ly said that it was the experiences at the historical site that really moved her. “When I burned incense and sang among thousands of graves at Truong Son Cemetery, I couldn’t hold back my tears. Looking at Thach Han River from the shore, it seems small, but from the middle of the stream, it feels wide and deep – like the sedimentary layers of history.”

People's Artist Pham Phuong Thao said that she and Khanh Ly did not have any arguments when recording: " Khanh Ly sings like telling a story through music - truthful, full of emotion and also very real. It was done after one recording."

At the launch, People's Artist Quang Tho - Khanh Ly's teacher - expressed his pride: "Thank you to young people like Khanh Ly for continuing the mainstream music". People's Artist Quoc Hung, Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, also highly appreciated the emotional resonance between the work, the arrangement and the singer's voice.

Khanh Ly is currently a lecturer at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, and has released many musical products such as Mien xa tham, Mua la die qua, Khuc ru, Co Dang sang soi...
