6 DECADES ACCOMPANYING OUR HOMELAND AND COUNTRY IN DEVELOPMENT
The 60-year history of establishment and development of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) Ha Tinh Branch (1965 - 2025) is a journey of attachment, perseverance and continuous dedication to the development of the homeland of Ha Tinh with a rich revolutionary tradition; a glorious journey with many proud marks bearing the brand: BIDV Ha Tinh.
BIDV Ha Tinh, formerly known as Ha Tinh Construction Bank, was established in 1965 from the Issuance Department of Ha Tinh Finance Department. It was one of the earliest branches of the BIDV system, making a special mark during the period when the country was in the arduous resistance period, both fighting and building. BIDV Ha Tinh contributed financial resources to the resistance and national construction; mobilized and effectively allocated capital for economic and defense projects...
Throughout the arduous struggle, many generations of BIDV Ha Tinh cadres have upheld revolutionary qualities - diligence, thrift, integrity and uprightness; strived to effectively carry out tasks, had many shining examples of revolution in the patriotic emulation movement, contributing to the growth of Ha Tinh Banking sector.
In 1975, the country was unified, Ha Tinh Construction Bank merged with Nghe An Construction Bank to form Nghe Tinh Construction Bank. In 1991, Nghe Tinh province was split into two provinces, Nghe An and Ha Tinh, and Ha Tinh Investment and Development Bank was re-established. BIDV Ha Tinh's dynamic development journey, rising up in the market mechanism, started from there with a modest starting point: outstanding credit balance of 8 billion VND, mobilized capital of 4.9 billion VND... Through many historical stages, the branch has transformed strongly, promoted digital transformation, improved service quality, expanded product ecosystem; affirmed its position as a leading bank in the area, accompanying the socio-economic development goals of the province. BIDV Ha Tinh was honored to receive many noble awards: Third-class Labor Medal (1993-1997 period), Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister (1992-1995 period, 2008-2010 period) and many certificates of merit and excellent emulation flags from the State Bank, Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee and BIDV.
BIDV Ha Tinh's growth rate in recent years has averaged 14-15%/year; its scale of operations and total assets have now reached more than 18,000 billion VND, more than double that of 2020. In particular, BIDV Ha Tinh is regularly in the top of the region and system in terms of digital customer development speed. The branch is serving nearly 5,000 corporate and economic organization customers and more than 215,000 individual customers. For 6 consecutive years (2019-2025), the branch has been considered by BIDV Headquarters to have completed its tasks excellently.
Mr. Nguyen Kim Dong - Former Director of BIDV Ha Tinh (Period 1991 - 2002) shared: “BIDV has actively contributed to the strong transformation of Ha Tinh - from a purely agricultural province to a dynamic locality, with many outstanding advances in infrastructure, industry, services and new rural construction. BIDV Ha Tinh plays a financial pillar role in providing credit capital for the province's priority areas, from agriculture, small-scale industry, to key projects in transportation, healthcare, and education. Many large enterprises and production and business households have risen thanks to the effective support of the branch. This is a clear demonstration of the role of creating and promoting the development of the banking industry, of which BIDV is a typical representative.
