At the meeting, President Luong Cuong was pleased to welcome First Secretary and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, a close and beloved friend of the Vietnamese people, who returned to visit after 7 years and for the first time as the leader of the Cuban Party and State; highly appreciated the presence of the high-ranking delegation of the Cuban Party and State at the important commemorative event of the Vietnamese people, demonstrating the close comradely and brotherly affection and the valuable support of the Cuban Party, State and people for the Vietnamese revolutionary cause.

On this occasion, President Luong Cuong respectfully conveyed his greetings and warm regards to Cuban revolutionary leader, General Raul Castro Ruz and other high-ranking leaders of the Cuban Party and State.

President Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam always treasures and remembers the solidarity and sincere support, both spiritual and material, that Cuba has given Vietnam in the past struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as in the current cause of national defense and construction. The Vietnamese people always pay attention to and follow every step of Cuba's development and are extremely happy with the important achievements that the Party, State and people of Cuba have achieved since the 8th Congress, especially the consolidation of the solidarity of the entire Party and people, and the improvement of the socio -economic situation in the context of complicated international developments.

The President expressed his belief that heroic Cuba will certainly overcome all current difficulties and challenges and continue to achieve even greater victories in the cause of building and defending the Socialist Cuba.

The President assessed that the traditional solidarity, special friendship and comprehensive cooperation in the spirit of comradeship, brotherhood and special trust between Vietnam and Cuba have continued to be consolidated and developed comprehensively over the past time through increasing high-level visits and contacts, theoretical exchanges and sharing of experiences in national defense and development, cooperation programs between ministries, branches, localities, socio-political organizations, effective cooperation in the fields of security, defense, foreign affairs, trade, agriculture, construction, biology-pharmaceuticals, etc.

For his part, First Secretary and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez thanked the Vietnamese leaders and people, as well as President Luong Cuong himself, for their warm and respectful welcome to the delegation; expressed his honor to represent the Cuban Party and State to attend the ceremony, emphasizing that this is not only a great event for the Vietnamese people but also a source of inspiration for the movement for national independence, freedom and social justice in the world, including Cuba; and believed that Vietnam, with the foundation and foundation built after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi, will continue to achieve more positive results in the cause of protecting, building and developing the country.

Comrade Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez affirmed that Cuba always appreciates the solidarity and valuable support and assistance that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have given to the Cuban people in recent times, especially the practical and effective support in strategic areas such as rice production and food security, and renewable energy development.

The First Secretary and President also highly appreciated the efforts and determination of Vietnamese enterprises investing and doing business in Cuba, contributing to the country's important economic sectors; affirmed that Cuba is ready to create mechanisms and favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to expand their operations in Cuba, contributing to bringing economic, trade and investment relations to the level of the good political relations between the two countries.

The two leaders affirmed their determination to further deepen the exemplary Vietnam-Cuba relationship, which was founded by President Ho Chi Minh and President Fidel Castro Ruz and nurtured by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries.

The two leaders agreed to increase high-level contacts and all-level contacts; effectively implement high-level agreements reached between the two sides; promote cooperation mechanisms between the two parties and the two countries, and continue to consult, closely coordinate, and support each other at international organizations and multilateral forums.

The two sides also agreed to enhance exchange, cooperation and communication activities between socio-political organizations, mass organizations, businesses and people of the two countries, and at the same time promote and educate the younger generations of both countries about the tradition of special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.
