Closing Ceremony of the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Festival in Quang Tri Province in 2024

With the theme “Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic groups, equality, solidarity, respect, integration and development for a peaceful world ”, the Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival was successful, leaving many good impressions. At the space of the Quang Tri Provincial Cinema and Cultural Center, delegates, people and tourists enjoyed many unique art programs of 16 groups from 16 provinces and cities with more than 64 performances rich in both content and form.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam affirmed that despite the unfavorable weather, the activities took place enthusiastically and passionately, in accordance with the true meaning of a festival of ethnic groups, a place to exchange, learn, express and shine the values ​​and cultural quintessence of ethnic minorities in the common cultural heritage of the Vietnamese people.

Through the festival, we contribute to further strengthening the solidarity among ethnic groups; it is an opportunity to look back at the precious traditional cultural values ​​of our ancestors, thereby becoming more aware of preserving, maintaining and promoting the cultural values ​​of ethnic groups in the development and integration period.

Coming to Quang Tri province on this occasion, in addition to participating in the festival activities, delegates, artisans, and athletes visited historical sites and scenic spots. Hopefully, the historical sites, village names, mountain names, and river names of Quang Tri have left a deep impression and will be widely spread so that Quang Tri will be known more and more.

Ms. Nguyen Hai Nhung, Director of the Department of Ethnic Culture, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that this festival is a connecting thread to build solidarity between localities, artisan groups, and mass actors of the provinces. This is an opportunity for the cultural identity of ethnic groups to be spread, to share experiences, and also a recognition by the Party and State for the efforts of localities, especially artisans (cultural subjects) who have made great efforts in preserving and promoting the fine cultural identity of ethnic groups in the colorful flower garden of 54 ethnic groups.

“After this Festival, I believe that artisans, actors, and mass athletes will have more motivation to unite and continue to promote the spirit of the Festival and return to their villages to gain more experience in preserving and promoting the cultural identity of their people,” Ms. Nguyen Hai Nhung expressed her confidence.

Regarding the content of "Mass cultural and artistic festival", there were 22 A prizes, 23 B prizes and 19 C prizes; the content of "Performance of traditional national costumes" had 5 A prizes, 6 B prizes and 5 C prizes; the content of "Excerpts of performance, introduction of excerpts of festivals, rituals of traditional cultural activities of local ethnic groups" had 5 A prizes, 6 B prizes and 5 C prizes; the content of "Display, processing and introducing traditional ethnic cuisine" had 5 A prizes, 6 B prizes and 2 C prizes; the content of "Display, introduction and promotion of local traditional culture" had 5 A prizes, 6 B prizes and 4 C prizes.

Tourism activities have 5 A prizes, 6 B prizes and 2 C prizes. For sports competitions: First prize for the whole group belongs to Dak Lak province; the provinces: Bac Giang, Son La, Quang Nam won Second prize for the whole group; the provinces: Lang Son, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri, Nghe An, Quang Binh won Third prize for the whole group; the provinces: Thua Thien Hue, Vinh Phuc, Da Nang won Encouragement prize for the whole group.

On this occasion, 22 groups and 7 individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing the festival were awarded certificates of merit by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; 5 groups and 7 individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing the festival were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province.
