Diaz arrives at Bayern. |
Bayern Munich will pay €75m to sign Luis Diaz from Liverpool, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Colombian will sign a contract with the Bundesliga champions until 2029.
Diaz will undergo tests next week, before becoming the most expensive non-European signing in the history of the Allianz Arena team. The previous record belonged to Korean centre-back Kim Min-jae (50 million euros).
Diaz left Anfield because he was not satisfied with his current salary (estimated at £55,000/week, much lower than Darwin Nunez or Mohamed Salah). In Munich, the star born in 1997 will receive a significant increase in income, while continuing to play at the highest level.
Diaz will become Bayern's second notable recruit this summer. Previously, coach Vincent Kompany's team recruited center-back Jonathan Tah from Leverkusen on a free transfer.
For Liverpool, the successful sale of Diaz will create a springboard for the reigning Premier League champions to detonate the blockbuster Alexander Isak. Previously, the Swedish striker publicly announced his intention to leave Newcastle, and at the same time refused a salary of 700,000 pounds per week in Saudi Arabia to wait for Liverpool. Currently, Isak is valued by his home team from 120 to 150 million euros.
