The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that at around 4 p.m. on July 17, the center of storm No. 1 was at approximately 20.8 degrees north latitude; 111.6 degrees east longitude, approximately 400 km east-southeast of Mong Cai (Quang Ninh). The strongest wind near the center of the storm was at level 12 (118 - 133 km/h), gusting to level 15.

In the past 3 hours, storm No. 1 moved rapidly at a speed of 20 - 25 km/hour. In the next 24 hours, storm No. 1 will continue to move mainly in the west-northwest direction, traveling about 20 km/hour.

At about 4:00 p.m. on July 18, the center of the storm was at about 21.7 degrees north latitude; 107.5 degrees east longitude, on the mainland in the northeastern region of the North with winds near the center of the storm at level 8, gusting to level 10. After that, storm No. 1 moved 20 km per hour in a west-northwest direction and weakened.

At 4:00 p.m. on July 19, the center of the storm was at about 22.6 degrees north latitude; 103.6 degrees east longitude, on land in the northwest region and weakened into a tropical depression, then continued to weaken and gradually dissipate.

Due to the influence of storm No. 1, the northern sea area of the North East Sea has strong winds of level 8 - level 9, the area near the storm center has strong winds of level 11 - level 12, gusts of level 15, and rough seas.

The northern area of Bac Bo Gulf (including Bach Long Vi and Co To island districts) has winds gradually increasing to level 6 - level 7, then increasing to level 8 - level 9, the area near the storm center has winds of level 10 - level 11, gusting to level 14, and rough seas.

On land, from early morning on July 18, coastal areas from Quang Ninh to Thai Binh will have winds gradually increasing to level 6 - level 7, areas near the storm center will have winds of level 8 - level 9, gusting to level 12; areas in Lang Son, Bac Giang, and Bac Ninh provinces will have strong winds of level 6 - level 7, gusting to level 9.

Due to the influence of storm No. 1, from the night of July 17 to 19, in the northeastern region there will be heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 200 - 300 mm, locally over 400 mm; the northwestern region and the Northern Delta will have heavy rain with total rainfall of 150 - 250 mm, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have moderate rain, heavy rain, some places will have very heavy rain with common rainfall of 70 - 150 mm, some places over 250 mm.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting recommends taking precautions against heavy rain causing urban flooding and warns of a high risk of flash floods and landslides in the provinces of Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai .
