On August 6, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security held a conference to evaluate the preparations for organizing and ensuring security and order for the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime.
Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Head of the Steering Committee for Preparation for the Organization, Head of the Security and Order Subcommittee for the Convention Signing Ceremony, emphasized that the Convention Signing Ceremony is an important international event, affirming the trust of the international community in Vietnam's capacity, commitment and responsibility in addressing global non-traditional security challenges.
The conference is held to review and assess the progress of preparations for the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime and ensuring public order and security. On that basis, it is necessary to identify tasks and solutions that need to be highly focused on in the coming time, ensuring that the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime is solemn, professional, secure and safe.
Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the core
At the Conference, representatives of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and the Office of the Ministry of Public Security presented reports on preparations for the organization and security assurance of the Convention signing ceremony.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang emphasized that Vietnam's hosting of the Convention Opening Ceremony is of utmost importance, contributing to affirming the country's position and role in the international arena. He also requested that the functional units of the two ministries continue to closely coordinate in preparing for the Convention Opening Ceremony; proactively advise the Steering Committee to promptly resolve any remaining difficulties and problems; and make every effort to ensure the successful organization of the Convention Opening Ceremony and side events, ensuring solemnity and compliance with international practices.
Concluding the conference, Deputy Minister of Public Security Pham The Tung requested members of the Steering Committee for the preparation of the organization and the Security and Order Subcommittee for the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime to unify their awareness, meaning and importance of the entire political system from now until the end of the event, in which the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs play the core role.
The members of the steering committee made worthy contributions so that the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime achieved comprehensive results, ensuring three successes: Success in content; success in ensuring security, safety, and respect for protocol and diplomacy; success in promoting the image, identity, country, and people of Vietnam and international friends.
Units resolutely implemented measures to ensure absolute security and safety, to prevent any sudden, unexpected, or even the smallest errors, contributing to the successful organization of the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime.
