Bang Thanh: Floor collapsed while eating, many people had to be hospitalized

On the evening of September 5, at the home of Mr. Hoang Van Chung, in Vi Lap village, Bang Thanh commune, while people were gathering to eat, the wooden floor on the second floor suddenly collapsed onto the first floor, injuring many people and requiring hospitalization.

The initial cause was determined to be that the house was built of wood that had been used for many years, the floor structure was weak over time, there were signs of termites, deterioration but had not been reinforced in time; many people sitting together with a large weight caused the floor to collapse. The incident injured 6 people.

Immediately after the incident, the leaders of Bang Thanh Commune People's Committee and functional forces arrived at the scene to take the victims to the emergency room. Up to now, most of the victims are out of danger, and serious injuries are still being treated.

Leaders of Bang Thanh commune visited, encouraged and provided initial support to the injured.

The incident is a warning about the risk of unsafety in dilapidated buildings and houses, especially wooden houses that have been built for many years in rural and mountainous areas. Local authorities recommend that people regularly check, reinforce and repair house items to avoid similar unfortunate incidents.
