It is forecast that by 7 p.m. today (September 6), the low pressure is likely to strengthen into a storm, about 530 km east-northeast of Hoang Sa archipelago; the strongest wind is level 8, gusting to level 10, continuing to move northwest at a speed of about 10 km/h and may strengthen further.
As of 7 p.m. on September 7, the storm in the northern East Sea, with the strongest winds at level 9, gusting to level 11, continued to move in the same direction. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requested coastal localities from Quang Ninh to Quang Ngai to closely monitor the situation, warn ships and prepare rescue forces. The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that from now until the end of the year, there will be 5-7 storms or tropical depressions active in the East Sea, of which 2-3 may directly affect the mainland, mainly from the Central region to the South. Cold air is forecast to arrive early, and floods at the end of the year may be complicated.
