As of today, January 18, the state of Michigan (USA) is still suffering from cold temperatures and heavy snow cover everywhere, after a large storm swept through this area since last weekend.

Bad weather has affected operations across the state, with some places seeing up to 30cm of snow, according to Business Insider.

However, according to Business Insider , the white snow also creates an interesting scene when taking photos of military aircraft parked at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Harrison, Michigan.

Specifically, to capture images of A-10C Thunderbolts attack aircraft in the snow, photographers had to take many shots because the resulting image "looked like a painting".

The photos show a row of snow-covered Thunderbolt A-10s, looking almost like illustrations against a white landscape.

First introduced in the 1970s, the A-10 is the only US military aircraft designed to provide close air support against ground targets.

The A-10 is best known for its 30mm GAU-8 Avenger cannon, which can fire nearly 4,000 rounds per minute. It can also carry bombs, rockets, and the AGM-65 Maverick anti-tank missile.

The A-10 Thunderbolt attack group is part of the 127th Fighter Wing, a combined unit of the US Air Force and Air National Guard with about 1,700 civilian pilots.
