Eat with workers

The "Union Meal" program launched by the Trade Union organization has brought nutritious meals to workers of enterprises in Da Nang city.

In the past few days, we and the staff of the Da Nang City Labor Federation (DLF) have had "Union Meals" with workers at enterprises.

At CELEBRITY FASHION VINA Company Limited (Tam Thang Industrial Park, Ban Thach Ward), more than 900 union members, workers, business leaders, company union officials and leaders of the City Labor Federation had lunch together in a warm and happy atmosphere.

Mr. Tran Quoc Bao - Deputy Head of the City Industrial Parks Trade Union said that in the "Trade Union Meal", each union member received a special lunch more than usual (worth about 60 thousand VND), of which the City Labor Federation supported 30 thousand VND.

“This is an opportunity for workers, trade unions and leaders of units and enterprises to share and listen to the thoughts and aspirations of workers, creating an atmosphere of solidarity and understanding. Thereby, building trust and attachment between union members and workers towards trade unions and enterprises,” said Mr. Bao.

We also participated in the "Union Meal" organized by the SGI VINA Company's Union (North Chu Lai Industrial Park) for 449 union members who are company officials and workers.

In the spacious and cool dining area, workers happily lined up to receive rice and dishes and then sat at tables to enjoy.

Mr. Vo Minh Tam (living in Ban Thach ward) and his colleagues in the company's maintenance department smiled brightly and said: "Today's meals are very rich, with more choices than usual, plus fruit, milk... Very fresh and delicious. We hope that the company and the Trade Union at all levels will pay more attention and support to the workers' lives, so that we can continue to work enthusiastically and contribute long-term."

Mr. Ngo Van Tuyen - Chairman of the SGI VINA Company's Trade Union said that with the additional support of the City Labor Federation, the workers' meals are supplemented with many dishes such as: meat, fish, eggs, vegetables, fruits, desserts with fruits, milk... with the hope that union members and workers will have a more delicious meal than usual, ensuring nutritional quality and food hygiene and safety.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh - Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation said that the "Union Meal" program is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2 and the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Labor Union.

This is also an opportunity for workers, trade unions and business leaders to sit together, talk, share, confide, and together create an atmosphere of solidarity and love, thereby building trust and attachment between union members and workers towards the trade union and business.

According to Ms. Anh, the City Labor Federation organized the “Union Meal” as a pilot program in 10 enterprises, while the remaining enterprises’ grassroots unions organized it themselves. This program took place from July 22 to September 2.

"Union Meal" also aims to demonstrate the role of the Union organization in taking care of material and spiritual life, aiming to build long-term welfare programs for union members and workers.
